Yeah, he was grieving for his late wife, and viola, he already has a girlfriend.

The Chicago woman was a bit too eager, wasn't she? I'm sure there are more like her in the jury pool.

eta - I agree that the excuse of his not knowing too much about the case due to grieving didn't jive with the speedy acquiring of a girlfriend.

Couldn't believe she moved all those kids, her hubby and her mother to Fla from Chicago four months ago. She has at least five kids, works third shift, and says she doesn't need the money. Then she goes on and says if she doesn't do CNA work three days a week she will lose her license, yet she's available for months of jury duty. Yeah, right!!! :roll

She could knit a sweater with that yarn.

Oh she's a winner...she's only had the job for one month. Drives by the courthouse all the time on the way to Walmart, and visits the flea market across the street. Works 10:30 pm to 7am. When does she sleep?

Anyhow is her Chicago CNA license valid in Fla., or did she miraculously get that in the last few months.

Lucky lady to find work so quickly in this bad job market. And her hubby too.

Bet the food stamp program had some new business lately.

Hope you're wrong because Florida is maxed out: Waiting list of 2 years for Section 8 housing, Daycare benefits have stopped until January 2014 - you know there are many other programs suffering under the weight of this social burden.

Due to the elderly population, I don't doubt she could find LPN work easily. But as for the rest of her story - pfffft!

Exactly.

All we'd need is one 30-65 year old white male free of white guilt and emotionality, and immune to being swayed by others who ARE vulnerable to such forces.

I was sorry to see him go. At least he had a good sense of humor.

Hi people... nice to see the place ran without me....

I think I'll leave this thread open as one thread for Jury selection, rather than a new one each day? See how that goes.
Please carry on with tidbits from VCourt tomorrow.... but do any general breaking shenanigans other than Jury selection in normal discussion thread?:

Discussion of Case Generally

The courtroom road map:

Image

Front line is legal team, with Family behind the short wall (bar, IIRC).

Image

Yeah, Family directly behind bar
(they find a trashcan?)

Image

Lets scoot on down the bar to see more Family...

Image

I can only guess that with the holy whiners nearby in the next row,
the co-co-counsel tweet master and the Chief-In-Charge Counsel stopped by for a
Family prayer, God bless their sweet souls!.

Thanks kbp

Great reference/scene setter.

I started a new thread to post photos or any reference material from Court sessions.

TRIAL - Photos, reference material etc (NO DISCUSSION)
viewtopic.php?f=48&t=955

It is separate from existing Photo etc thread which has evidence and other photos.... may repeat some of them if and when they are presented at trial

I have also started a thread to archive YT Vid Replays of each Jury Selection Day

JURY SELECTION - VIDEO REPLAYS (NO DISCUSSION)

Zimmerman jury selection begins in Florida
By Colette Bennett
updated 6:28 PM EDT, Mon June 10, 2013

  • Four prospective jurors for the George Zimmerman trial were interviewed on Monday

A total of 20 potential jurors were brought into the courtroom, and the group was instructed to return tomorrow at 9 a.m. They were told not to talk about the case or research it during their free time.

The first potential juror, a middle-aged blonde female, told the court that she has stayed away from watching news coverage of the case since she found out she could be a juror. When asked how she would react to what she heard in the media if it differed from what she heard in court, she replied, "I would listen to what I heard in the court because that's what I'm supposed to do as a juror."

The second woman, a younger black female, told the court that she doesn't know much about the case and that she wants to serve on the jury even though she believes it will be hard emotionally.

The third candidate, a white middle-aged male, said was aware of the case and mentioned a 911 call that may prove crucial in the trial, saying the voice on the tape sounded like a woman to him.

All of the potential jurors were asked if they watched the local or national news, what channels, and about papers they subscribed to. The man said he did not watch the news, saying it was "too negative."

The last candidate for the day, a white middle-aged woman, knew about the shooting from the local news but says she has not formed an opinion. She says her family is of the belief that everyone deserves a fair trial.
