She is a PROPER psychologist... I would not expect her to be throwing around pop-psychobabble terms like "Narcisist" and "sociopath"

Those terms are the stuff of self appointed experts posting on forums :lol

Thanks for letting me know how you really feel. I won't use the words narcissist or sociopath again. :wall

That is my point... people ARE mixtures of personality traits... and what is a negative in one person can quite easily be a positive in another. A proper assessment requires careful clinical interviews, tests, other evidence....

Having seen what a "pig's mess" "experts" like Alyce and Peter and Dr Krapp can make of an assessment... even with their training... it should give pause when an amateur poster/psychologist makes a "diagnosis" based on a few news reports and their own creative imagination :)

I should have been more clear. I meant to ask if she felt she also had Narcissistic Personality Disorder: a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration, and a lack of empathy. Characterized by self-importance, preoccupations with fantasies, belief that they are special, including a sense of entitlement and a need for excessive admiration, and extreme levels of jealousy and arrogance.

I've read that people can have mixtures of several different personality disorders.

MM you know Jodi personally? :Gslap You nailed her - at least one of her "personalities".

(Tried to quote - having trouble. Says can only quote ONCE? That's all I did - once.)

I want to see that film too ... Looking For Bobby Fisher.

:give

We all do it :)

I guess I am just saying that popular usage of terms should not be confused with an actual diagnosis by a psychologist.

Here is the clip - it's kind of confusing the way Martinez words it, but later, DeMarte did say she did NOT supervise her. I believe Martinez was saying, "did you supervise people LIKE LaViolette (who had a Masters Degree)."

I know! :84 And yes it is. Image

Many years ago my coworkers and I tried to figure out which personality disorder our boss suffers from. That's when I learned about the different clusters. And that all the clusters apply to him... and we (his employees) are clusterfucked. :Gslap

I have done the full MMPI test... 500+ questions.. and scored it and I KNOW I am nuts :)

But nowhere near as bad a Jodi

I think "Borderline Personality Disorder" is spot on.

My diagnosis of "Nut job" was dead accurate :lol

Thinking people just HAVE to think and wonder ...
That's just the way it is! They can't help it.

Jodi developed her word skills by reading I guess?
We can read and learn too.

A Shrink friend, not my childhood neighbor, but a "follower - fan" I guess you could call him, told me to get the book
"The Mask Of Sanity". I was wondering about my husband at the time. Loved that book. It is a teaching
book and almost anyone can understand it.

Did DeMarte mention anything about narcissism in her diagnosis of Jodi?

If she doesn't have a diagnosis of NPD she certainly has narcissistic traits.

R. Approximately how long does it take to complete that MMPI test?

Do you have to do it all at once? Can you do it piece-meal?

Joni.

It was a LONG time ago.

But as I recall its all done in one sitting? Analysis takes longer than sitting the test.. There is lots of subscales to look at etc... it was a big project to do and write a full report.... And IIRC... only did some parts of analysis not everything.

500 questions sounds a lot, but they are all True/false questions .. so can be done quickly. With most psychological tests it is best to NOT agonise and over-think answers... in fact that can be detrimental to result validity... you instruct people to answer quickly.

So I would guess it takes an hour? to do...... some results straight away but proper analysis takes time.

PHOENIX - A key witness in the Jodi Arias case called Phoenix Police Wednesday morning to report her home was broken into and burglarized. We're told key information in the case may have been stolen.

Dr. Janeen Demarte is an expert witness for the prosecution. Sources tell us her laptop was stolen. In that laptop was a psychological profile of Jodi Arias.

"It seems very suspicious. It could just a normal home burglary but this Dr. Demarte has been listed as an expert witness in publicly filed documents for over two years now, so who knows?"

HOW FILTY DIRTY THEY ARE!
Not a coincidence I would say!

I KNEW they were dirty, but NOT THIS DIRTY! :59

So when she testified today, they already had it?

Afternoon/Morning, Everyone! :69

Since the laptop contained DeMarte's Psychological Profile/Report of Jodi, some are suspecting Donovan of the dirty deed.

I heard one spectator ask about Alyce and what happened to her showing up on Tuesday. Valerie was not allowed to answer.
