“I didn’t read it cover-to-cover, I just read to the end of the Book of Mormon. But they have a huge index in the back that I didn’t read. Sorry,” said Arias.

Martinez asked: “Why don’t you tell us… what the mandate is involving lying?”

5:12 p.m. ET: Martinez asked Arias if she really follows the Book of Mormon using it as a guide for her life. She said that is not a yes or no answer.

5:11 p.m. ET: Martinez is asking Arias about The Mormon Law of Chasity. He is now showing Arias an excerpt of the Book of Mormon that mentions lying, and how people will be condemned to hell for lying.

omg - not that I want to help her out, but why doesn't she simply say, "like followers of many religions, I try my best to follow the the guidelines, but ultimately, I am human and sin.

5:25 p.m. ET: Martinez is now asking Arias about how she took guidance from Alexander about the Mormon Law of Chastity. He asked her if she ever told Alexander that "if it is wrong I don't want to be wrong." Arias said yes she did say that to Alexander.

5:22 p.m. ET: The attorneys are at a sidebar with the judge. Martinez was asking about how Arias was offended by the language Alexander used during the fight.

5:18 p.m. ET: Arias said the fight began downstairs, and then it continued up stairs.

5:16 p.m. ET: Martinez is asking about a fight she had with Alexander before they went on a hike.

5:28 p.m. ET: Martinez is asking Arias why she didn't call 911 when Alexander abused her. Arias said one of the reasons relates back to a situation that happened with her high school boyfriend.

Martinez asked: “Isn’t it true that you knew it was wrong and you said, ‘I don’t care,’ even if it’s wrong – involving the sex – you’re going to do it anyway?”

“At one point, regarding when we would go all the way with vaginal sex, it reached a point where we did say that, yes,” said Arias.

5:39 p.m. ET: Arias said she doesn't know if the gun was loaded on June 4, 2008.

“Did you believe or not believe that the gun was loaded?” asked Martinez.

“I didn’t stop to really think about whether it was loaded or not so I don’t now. I just… the only time the gun came to my head – I grabbed it and pointed it at him so he would halt,” said Arias.

5:37 p.m. ET: Now Martinez how Arias was able to grab the gun off the top shelf in Alexander's closet.

5:36 p.m. ET: Arias said yes she did tell Flores that Alexander did not own a gun, and that was a lie.

“Do you remember telling Detective Flores that Mr. Alexander did not have a gun?” asked Martinez.

“Yes I do,” said Arias.

“That was a lie, is that what you’re saying now?” asked Martinez.

“Yes,” said Arias.

5:34 p.m. ET: Martinez is now asking if Arias told detective Esteban Flores days after Alexander did not have a gun just days after he died.

5:48 p.m. ET: Martinez asked Arias if she stepped on that shelf, wouldn't it have tipped over, because they rest on little pins. Arias said the shelf did not tip over.

“Did you know that the rating on these shelves was 40 pounds? Did you know anything about that?”

At the time, Arias said she weight around 120 pounds.

5:42 p.m. ET: Martinez is asking Arias about how she stepped on shelf to reach Alexander's gun. Arias said she doesn't remember exactly which shelf she stepped on. Martinez is pointing out that the shelves are resting shelves.

Martinez asked: “Did you use anything to get up there or no?”

“Yes, I did,” replied Arias.

“What did you step on?” Martinez asked.

“I stepped briefly on the edge of the shelf and I held on to the edge of the shelf with my other hand and I grabbed the gun with my free hand,” said Arias.

5:51 p.m. ET: Martinez is now asking about how Arias did not know if the gun was unloaded. He asked what were you going to do throw the gun at him?

She said she pointed it at him to make him stop. The attorneys are now at a sidebar with the judge.

5:49 p.m. ET:

“There’s really nothing here that’s out of order, wouldn’t you agree?” asked Martinez.

“I agree with that,” said Arias.

6:28 p.m. ET: Defense attorney Nurmi is now asking Arias follow up questions.

6:26 p.m. ET: Juror questions: How many phone calls and text message conversations did you have with Alexander June 2 through June 4, 2008. Arias is reviewing the phone records now.

6:23 p.m. ET: Juror question: If you were scared after shooting Alexander, then why did you not shoot him again? Why did you use a knife?

Arias said Alexander knocked the gun out of her hand, and she said doesn't really remember what happened.

6:22 p.m. ET: Judge Stephens is reading additional questions from the jurors. The first juror question: How many times did you see Alexander's gun?

Arias said she saw it a few times before June 4, 2008.

The question concerns whether or not Jodi went to the Bishop of the church because of sexual sin. She said yes....but she also said she didn't tell him about the other sin on 4 June 08. Oh my, you mean there's a church that considers killing in self-defense a sin? I don't think so.

P.S. Oh no....Juan just asked about that and missed the point. I'd like Jodi to answer this..."Do you believe you have committed a sin according to your church in killing Travis in self-defense?"

6:35 p.m. ET: Nurmi has completed his follow up questions, and now Martinez is asking questions.

6:33 p.m. ET: Nurmi is now asking about whether Arias took pictures of her injuries to her neck in April 2008. Arias said Alexander choked her and it bruised her neck.

6:32 p.m. ET: The attorneys are at a sidebar with the judge.

6:31 p.m. ET: Arias said Alexander told her to not go to her bishop about her sexual sin, and she claims that after Alexander died she did go to her bishop about her sexual sin, but did not mention killing him.

6:29 p.m. ET: Arias said she was not a perfect Mormon, and she is talking about what a Mormon does when they commit a "transgression." For serious transgressions Mormons should speak with their bishop. Arias said she tried to go to the bishop about her sexual sin with Alexander.
