I'm not sure whether they are born or made or a combination of both. Several years ago, PBS (public tv) had a special "Change Your Brain, Change Your Life" featuring Psychiatrist Dr. Daniel Amen. He studied brain scans of people with different disorders and showed that there is a correlation between brain damage/disease and psychiatric disorders. It was fascinating. They may not be born "evil", but they may have been born with damaged or malfunctioning brains, or they got damaged later in life.

"Minimizing language" just now discussed on Dr. Drew - like when Jodi talks about Travis "passing away". That made me sick whenever she'd say that but it's the very same logic as when the murderer says...'when he was killed' instead of 'when I killed him'. The guilty use language that minimizes their role in the morbid event.

Hi mama! Where the bloody heck have you been! :51

:28 I've been doing my Mod work behind the scenes and then was playing games in the game section!

I'm a little Jodied out. Glad there's a break until Wednesday. It'll give me a chance to catch up on all I've missed. (I thought the HLN shows would feature the most important parts, but they are leaving out really interesting (IMO) questions from the jurors!

I just don't buy their being 'born that way' justifying their evil deeds.

I had a friend die of a brain tumor at age 52 and she indeed changed as her tumor grew, so it would be normal to see that on pics of the brain. It's not that, but the 'evil' part that interests me. I believe that brain damage/trauma may change people's behavior but not in an evil way. Because I believe in good and evil, I know those spirits exist and are behind the people that act good or evil. So my 'faith' does color my opinion, but it makes perfect sense to me whereas other theories don't.

Okay, mama, you get a pass this time but just don't let it happen again. When class starts you are expected to be here or get demerits. Rumpole gives the demerits. Then we ban Rumpole. Just how things work. :12

The only time I got weary of the trial was when Nurmi was partaking of the events. Otherwise I find it really interesting. Wonder if I'll survive the next 5 days. LOL

Does anyone know why some talking heads say he was stabbed 27 times and others say 29 times?

rt I think that's the trait of a Psychopath. Nobody's home ... so they have to learn how a normal person should react then mimic it.

About Asperger's - my friend has a son with it, (went all thru her difficult preganancy with him), and one of my best friends back home, has it. He is a true SAVANT too!!! Remember "Rain Man"? Somehow they miss the cues and signals normal people see - goes right over their heads. BTW, they are dropping that name now. It is the highest level on the Autism spectrum. They are putting it back in the spectrum of Autism, no longer Aspergers. It is Autism, and a good decision I think.

He is a wonderful man - with some strange social behaviors. Not his fault ... just doesn't "get it". Very bright, nice, and good - though.

MM they say 27 I believe because that was the first "figure" given. After the M.E. washed him off and examined Travis, he then said 29. I believe that include the horrible throat gashing.

I guess I have been watching like you MM ... waiting to see her CAUGHT!!!
THEN all that droning becomes WORTH IT!

Joni beat me to it. LOL But isn't watching somebody get caught in their lies why we all watch these trials! I just love it when other people get caught. :HSG

Have you guys wondered, when Jodi gets all tucked in for the night and it's quiet and dark and she's all alone...whether she is just sick about what she's done to herself, or if she basks in the joy of knowing that Travis is dead?

I imagine if she has any ill-ease at all it will be annoyance about Martinez not believing her lies (how dare he).

She may have some doubts that some others wont believe her as well... but I think she is sure that at worse it will be a hung jury.

I do hope she is wrong.

I don't think she cares about Travis at all... or even thinks about him or what she has done. Her only thoughts are about herself and how to get away with it

I even think she relishes in remembering that she killed him, how she did, etc.
She wanted him dead. :29

This is a cool 10 minute video to watch

It is not hard.. easier than cloning a monkey

the url address you posted is good... you just need to pick out what "v="

In your example: Z8MxOfIWlFc
Highlight that and press [youtube]

Thanks kj

Took me longer than 10 mins :24

I had to pause a few times.... read and think.

It is clear to me that SOMETHING close to that happened. Certainly she slashed and stabbed him. Many times from behind while he tried to get away. He was clearly at the sink coughing blood. Cut his throat up the hall.

Shot him after all this.

I wondered the same and thought that maybe the difference was that they (or maybe the ME?) considered the 2 stab wounds/gashes to the head as different?

Hey....I thought I was the only one wondering what she was thinking about last night! I can say that we will probably never be able to guess what's going on in her sick mind.

(I was just chuckling remembering how yesterday she said, "at that time, I had low really low self-esteem...." like she has "good" self esteem now..... :Q28 )

Beth Karas said that yesterday, as soon as Juan Martinez got up to grill Jodi, the whole courtroom (including the jurors) sat up and started paying attention and you could hear some "oooooh, aaaahs and even a YES!" :31

Another reporter also said that NONE of the men on the jury are taking notes anymore and only a couple of the women. They are looking bored and annoyed. :6

Sorry, Joni and anybody else who had problems... I know kj did. :97 :42

I have exchanged words with the Server company who host the site. :45 :59

I received this message: Safari cannot access the server requested. I tried many times throughout the day yesterday and felt bad because I knew you were NOT a happy camper - glad everything is back and up and running! :32
