Twice last year the business owners within Ferguson Missouri begged the police to stop their stores from being looted, torched and destroyed. Both times their pleas fell on deaf ears.

The second time the Missouri governor promised to use the National Guard to protect them; but when it really mattered the National Guard were told to stand down – the town was torched, businesses lost.

Today a desperate community pleaded with Saint Louis leadership to protect them. Perhaps, the third time is a charm? Ongoing….

He DinduNuffin – Tyrone Harris Sr. told The Associated Press his son was a close friend of Michael Brown and was in Ferguson on Sunday night to pay respects.

Harris said his son got caught up in a dispute among two groups of young people and was “running for his life” after gunfire broke out. He said his son had no weapons.

“My son was running to the police to ask for help, and he was shot,” he said. “It’s all a bunch of lies … They’re making my son look like a criminal.”

The father said he spoke with two girls who were with his son. (link)

The St. Louis County Police Department is releasing surveillance video pertinent to the investigation of the officer involved shooting of Tyrone Harris that occurred on August 9, 2015.

The surveillance video is from Solo Insurance Services, located at 9197 W. Florissant, St. Louis, MO 63136. Detectives from the Crimes Against Persons Unit have identified the person in the video as Tyrone Harris.

The video shows Harris grab a handgun out of his waistband once shots are fired during the protest in the W. Florissant corridor.

“12-year-old” protester appears to have lied about her age

FERGUSON, MO (KTVI) – As St. Louis County police began arresting protesters and demonstrators in Ferguson Monday evening, social media was abuzz with claims authorities had taken a 12-year-old girl into custody.

Activists and witnesses at the scene tweeted pictures of a short, small-framed African-American female with her arms restrained behind her back and being brought to a police van.



Police were castigated on social media by people in Ferguson and across the country, with some asking how a child’s parents could possibly allow them to be involved in something like this.

The department’s assertion that the person in the pictures was really 18 years of age was met with doubt.

On Tuesday morning, a self-described youth advocate and citizen journalist named Chuck Modi began tweeting pictures of those arrested as they were released from police custody.

One of Modi’s tweets is a picture of a person who appears to be the “child” that was arrested.



It seems the young lady lied about her age out of fear of being manhandled by police upon her arrest.

The woman was not identified.
