ARTICLE....Photobucket’s increasingly aggressive emails are the last straw for many people28th February 2019
Since the turn of the year, many former Photobucket users have been receiving ever more desperate emails urging them to upgrade their Photobucket account.
They started off quite mild, but of late, they have become more urgent and demanding and it’s not helping their cause.
This all started back in June 2017 when the world woke up to find that all their third-party hosted images on Photobucket had been replaced with an error message, the dreaded P500 ‘dial of death’.

The THREATS have got worse in last few days (since this article written)

They are banging on about BANDWIDTH USE being exceeded... which makes no sense in my case at least.
Bandwidth use is different from "storage space" used. I already have THAT threat in emails and when (if) I logon to pb...

I had BANDWIDTH issues back in the day... when I posted a LOT of photos and apparently that uses up bandwidth every time somebody just views them wherever they are posted. No problem most of the time, but on a couple of occasions I did exceed the monthly bandwidth limits (they say) and so my photos showed an error message in posts for a short period. However, I have NOT posted any photos from my pb account for about 2 years (or more).. so few, if any, people are viewing such photos. Older photos are NOT being viewed at RT.. or any of the old forums I posted at... in fact Justarse Quest is KAPUT as far as I can tell.. and besides NOBODY would be looking at 8 year old threads there anyway. and THOSE photos are not "fixed" and so remain restricted (blocked) by pb already. So where could there be bandwidth usage from my pb account?
I have found a way to "fix" old pb posts....make my old posted images visible again at RT (and remove the pb watermark)... but even that... is back in very OLD posts that nobody accesses... not even bots and spiders as far as I ever see.
For the record - My current account Status
So... although I have MORE than 250 images... they are all VERY SMALL compared to modern-day higher resolution things. WAY LESS storage (and bandwidth) usage than the 2.5GB "allowed" (only 25.8%).
However... pb are Arseholes and I would never do business with them again in a million years...certainly never pay them for their complete lack of service, threats to customers, and the damned intrusive ads that have always made the place slow and annoying to use.
