I didn't realize that meteors exploded in the atmosphere. I always thought they crashed into the earth causing a crater. That article said that the shock wave set off car alarms, blew in doors, and smashed glass windows which caused so many injuries, mostly for cuts from flying glass.
Maybe if they're too big or faster they don't disintegrate as well before hitting our atmosphere. I've heard a lot do bust apart before they get us though. Ugh are we doomed.
