Outrage at news station duped into reporting false and racist names for the Asiana crash pilots... as it emerges NTSB INTERN 'confirmed' the names to station
By James Daniel PUBLISHED: 01:39 GMT, 13 July 2013 | UPDATED: 15:21 GMT, 13 July 2013 A San Francisco television station has been forced to make a humiliating apology after an on-air gaffe resulted in a live racist joke about the fatal Asiana plane crash. During the midday broadcast on Friday, presenter Tori Campbell, announced that her news station, KTVU, had just learned the names of the four pilots who were on board Asiana flight 214 when it crashed at San Francisco International Airport on Saturday. She then proceeded to read out four fake names from a teleprompter whilst keeping a straight face. The names poked fun at the crash and have been further criticized for their racist undertones. It is not yet clear where the names originated but the broadcaster did confirm them with the National Transportation Safety Board before airing them. The safety board said a summer intern told KTVU the names were correct. The video of the cringe-worthy mistake has gone viral and drawn heavy criticism on the Internet. I'm sorry, but I have to admit, I laughed my arse off when I saw the names they aired. I have no clue how the news anchor said them with a straight face, or, didn't realize they were bogus names. Ho Lee Fuk...Really ? LMAO |

It appeals to me (and Walther) as funny.  I have no racist feelings about Asians... something similar with WELSH names would also be funny. |

Michael Savage has referred to this as fourth grade humor but I think it is probably more like half or three quarters of the way through the fifth .......of scotch Anyway there are splodey heads all over about this prank which has gone viral |

I'm thinking that the news lady is legally blonde. Maybe she ran in an olympics that never happened. This kind of prank message humor has been going on for decades with office personnel who are expecting to get a laugh out of the person receiving the humorous communication, who is being teased. When the recipient doesn't "get it" then uh oh we got a problem. I bet that news lady is a little red faced, probably even a little angry ...maybe just a little huh. Teleprompter madness strikes again. That NTSB "communicator" of the original message is probably now in the witness protection program. |
