Would you PAY to pet cats over tea? New San Francisco café will let patrons play with rescued felines By Daily Mail Reporter PUBLISHED: 22:52 GMT, 24 January 2014 | UPDATED: 22:52 GMT, 24 January 2014 ![]() San Francisco will soon be home to its own Cat Café – a Japanese attraction where visitors pay a fee to sit in the company of furry animals and sip tea. KitTea, the brainchild of West Coast entrepreneurs Courtney Hartt and David Braginsky, will open later this year to offer patrons a ‘cat oasis’. Like many cat cafés in Japan, KitTea will source its feline friends from local shelters - offering them a better future in the process. KitTea’s informational website says that it will comply with The Association of Shelter Veterinarians, which advises that no more than ten cats live together in a group environment at one time. All of the cats will be vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and will be offered a vast environment in which to play. ‘The reality is, that our cat oasis will be the ultimate nirvana in comparison to being left in a cage with an uncertain future, which is their fate if they are left at a city shelter…We truly want what is best for the cats,' the café's website explains. KitTea has not yet established its pricing structure, but it’s likely that they will follow the Japanese custom of charging by the hour. Cat cafés in Tokyo typically cost between $9 and $11 per hour, with unlimited play packages also available (many of which come with a complimentary tea drink). Each café enforces strict etiquette which includes rules like no holding the cats, no flash photography, and no disturbing cats that are sleeping. .... more at link http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/artic ... lines.html |

Me too. I have been to several cafes etc where they do have a resident cat... it's a feature in my book ![]() If it's a Chinese "Dim Sum dive"... would not pay to ask "is the meat fresh" ![]() ![]() |
