Brevard judge tells attorney, 'I'll beat your ass,' allegedly throws punches
Posted: 6:39 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. —

Court deputies had to break up a physical fight between a Brevard County judge and a public defender after an argument during a hearing on Monday.

Judge John Murphy is accused of punching veteran public defender Andrew Weinstock after the two had words during court in which Murphy allegedly pressured Weinstock to get his client to waive his right to a speedy trial.

"You know, if I had a rock I would throw it at you right now," Murphy tells Weinstock. "Stop pissing me off. Just sit down."

"You know I'm the public defender. I have a right to be here and I have a right to stand and represent my client," Weinstock said in the video.

The judge allegedly asked Weinstock to come to the back hallway, an area where there are no cameras, which is where the fight broke out.

"If you want to fight, let's go out back and I'll just beat your ass," Murphy tells Weinstock before the two head out of the courtroom.

While Murphy and Weinstock could not be seen, the courtroom camera captured audio of the scuffle and several loud thuds that accompanied it.

A mistrial was declared Wednesday in the murder trial of a former Razorback football player accused of killing a friend after a night of drinking, according to the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.

One of the jurors in the case was dismissed before noon because of a motion filed by the defense. Another juror was dismissed early in the afternoon after she approached the judge and said she could not continue, prosecutors said.

A retrial was set for Oct. 20.

Southern Exposure: Aspiring Model Charged With Obscenity For Modeling Her Vagina For Jailers
July 9, 2014 by Leslie Simon

Image

We’re guessing aspiring model Devan Serpa might not want to add her recent mugshot to her portfolio, especially when casting agents find out what the 29-year-old was charged with.

Originally arrested for her involvement in a Louisiana shooting—no injuries were reported, but a car was damaged by two gun shots—Serpa added obscenity charges to her docket after flashing her ladybits to a jailer during the booking procedure.

Serpa is currently locked up and charged with obscenity, aggravated criminal damage to property and illegal use of a weapon.

That’s hardly what we’d call model behavior.

Man allegedly castrated by woman over $13
Posted: 11:13 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014

MONTGOMERY COUNTY — According to a Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Report, a man was castrated by a woman when he only had $13 to pay for sex.

The victim was taken to Good Samaritan hospital early Monday with stab wounds to the scrotum. The victim told deputies he was driving on North Main Street when a woman asked him for a ride. He said yes, but that he would have to first stop at his house on Carter Avenue.

The victim said the two went to the basement, and the woman asked if he wanted to make it a "date." The victim said he only had $13, and the woman then pulled out a pocket knife and ordered him to drop his shorts. He said the woman then started stabbing him. Once the woman left, the victim said he crawled upstairs to wake his sister to take him to the hospital.

Hospital staff said the injury was serious, but not considered life-threatening.

American tourist’s body in suitcase at resort; daughter & boyfriend arrested
By Natalie O'Neill

A Chicago woman’s body was discovered stuffed in a blood-splattered suitcase outside of a luxury hotel in Bali — and her teenage daughter and boyfriend were arrested in connection to the brutal murder on Wednesday, police sources said.

Heather Mack, 19, and her boyfriend,Tommy Schaefer, 21, allegedly crammed the half-naked body of Sheila von Wiese Mack, 62 — an academic who once worked for Ted Kennedy — into the luggage before leaving it in a cab near the five-star St Regis hotel in Nusa Dua on Tuesday night, police sources told the Jakarta Post

“When we opened the suitcase, we were really surprised as we found a dead body… There was blood and wounds to her forehead,” South Kuta Police Chief Comr. Gede Redastra told the paper.

Witnesses in Bali suitcase murder say mother and daughter argued in lobby
19 hr ago By Reuters

DENPASAR Indonesia (Reuters) - An American woman whose body was found in a suitcase on the resort island of Bali and her daughter were seen arguing in the lobby of their hotel, police said on Friday, as a U.S. attorney headed to Indonesia to advise the teen.

Heather Mack, 19, and Tommy Schaefer, 21, were arrested last week as suspects over the death of Mack's mother. They have not been charged.

Sheila von Wiese-Mack's battered body was found in the bloodied suitcase in a taxi outside the luxury St. Regis hotel.

Police spokesman Ida Bagus Sarjana said witnesses reported seeing the mother and daughter arguing in the hotel. He said it was not clear what the argument was about or when it occurred.

Aaron Hernandez Murder Trial: Former NFL Star Convicted of First-Degree Murder

NBC News
BY Erin McClam | April 15, 2015

Aaron Hernandez was convicted Wednesday of first-degree murder in the late-night shooting of a man in a deserted industrial park — a verdict that completed a staggering fall for one of the NFL's most promising stars.

He was sentenced to life without parole.

Hernandez, 25, a former tight end for the New England Patriots, appeared to shake his head slightly as the verdict was read. He was also convicted of gun charges in the June 2013 killing of Odin Lloyd, who was dating the sister of Hernandez's fiancée.

When the verdict was read, Hernandez's mother and fiancée gasped and cried. The jury, in Fall River, Massachusetts, had deliberated 36 hours over seven days.

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WVEC) -- The family of a Portsmouth teen is demanding answers after a young man was shot and killed by a police officer.

Will Chapman, 18, was shot in a Walmart parking lot off of Frederick Boulevard Wednesday morning.

Chapman's cousin, Earl Lewis, told 13News Now the shooting was unjustified.

"He was an innocent young man who just went out to the store and he got shot," Lewis said.

Police say Chapman was suspected of shoplifting when he was met by a police officer in the parking lot. A struggle ensued and Chapman was shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

By AARON KATERSKY and EMILY SHAPIRO

Image

New York Police Department officer Brian Moore has died at Jamaica Hospital after he was shot Saturday in Queens, police said today. Moore, 25, was a five-year veteran.

"He'd already received two exceptional police service medals and two meritorious police service medals," NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton said today at a news conference. "We don't give them out easily."

Bratton called Moore "an extraordinary young man." He also said Moore's death is "a great loss to his family, a great loss to this department, and a great loss to this profession and to this city."

Sounds like he went from high school, got his associate's degree and right to work for the NYPD. I read Harold Kushner's book "When Bad Things Happen to Good People" ages ago. And I still don't understand.
This is so sad. :(

Police Officer Cleared In Tony Robinson Shooting – Madison Wisconsin District Attorney Begs Grievance Advocates Not To Destroy The City…
Posted on May 12, 2015 by sundance

Grande Lum’s team of CRS “peacekeepers” have been on the ground in Madison Wisconsin for weeks preparing the community to hear that no charges will be filed against police officer Matt Kenney who shot 19-year-old street thug Tony Robinson.

Image

As shared by an eye witness:

…This so called “gentle giant” was high on suspected hallucinagenics, and in a violent, volitile rage, walking down the streets of madison battering citizens, whom were frantically calling 911 for police assistance.

This out of control, violent man, high on acid hallucinagenic drugs, which not only gave him super human strength but made him impervious to pain, then battered a peace officer. Yes a peace officer who’s job that night was to protect the citizens screaming for help, and to protect the community from further harm from this man.

Again a man who made the choice to consume quantities of drugs, that made him a mad man, who was on a mission to critically harm others in his path”…

The police scanner and other witness testimony confirms this account.

Police Shoot Hammer-Wielding Man Sought in 4 Manhattan Attacks

The New York Times | MAY 13, 2015
By J. DAVID GOODMAN and AL BAKER

Image

A hammer-wielding man wanted in connection with a series of attacks in Manhattan was shot by a New York police officer on Wednesday on a busy Midtown street in a confrontation captured on surveillance video, the authorities said.

The man, whom two police officials identified as David Baril, 30, was taken to Bellevue Hospital Center, where he was in critical condition.

Speaking at a news conference at the scene, at 37th Street and Eighth Avenue, the police commissioner, William J. Bratton, said Mr. Baril fit the description of an attacker who struck four people with a hammer on Monday around Union Square and Midtown.

On Wednesday, two uniformed officers, Geraldo Casaigne, 36, and Lauren O’Rourke, 27, were on patrol in Midtown when they saw the man and believed him to be the suspect in the earlier attacks, Mr. Bratton said. The officers followed him from 38th Street along Eighth Avenue. After a block, the man turned and stopped at the corner of 37th Street.

The comments/tweets I am reading on this are unreal .. well, a majority of them are. I agree with others.

"He should have received the help he NEEDED."
"Police have known for years ... he needed help."
"He should not have been shot ... there are other ways to apprehend him."

A bad man is dead. There are too MANY good people trying to live a normal life.

What about his family, friends, clergy OR the millions of taxpayer programs in place to help people like this?

It's NOT LEOs' problem. :Q44

Home Invasion/Robbery Caught on Video – And The PC Police Can’t Identify The Suspects ?….
Posted on May 16, 2015 by sundance

A profound Lesson In Why Situational Awareness is important, and you should trust your instincts.

You have to actually watch the video to see how ridiculous it seems for the police to claim they are unable to identify the suspects. However, WARNING, the video is very real, very disturbing and as a consequence, very intense. It happened 5 days ago.

OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) – A 21-year-old woman says she was attacked in her Overland Park home and her security system caught it on camera.

“As soon as he put his arm around my neck, I was like, ‘oh [expletive], this is really happening. This is really going on,'” she said.

The attack happened about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday near West 106th Street. O’Connor said she told a friend that she was trying to get rid of her ex-boyfriend’s carpentry tools.

In the video captured by O’Connor’s hidden camera, one can see her struggling to breathe in a chokehold.

“I told her I was trying to sell them, and she was like, ‘Oh, I might know a couple of guys looking to open their own business,'” O’Connor said.

But the only business these guys were into was stealing.

O’Connor said she doesn’t know the two men. But the woman, nervously pacing the floor in the surveillance video, was someone she knew.

[…] The only saving grace for O’Connor was her hidden cameras inside her apartment. She put them in three months ago when she hired a new nanny.

Suspected quadruple murderer Daron Dylon Wint captured without incident in D.C. after massive manhunt

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS | Updated: Friday, May 22, 2015, 10:05 AM
BY THOMAS TRACY , TINA MOORE , RACHELLE BLIDNER , JASON SILVERSTEIN

The search for the suspect wanted for a sadistic slaughter in a posh Washington D.C. family home ended late Thursday when cops nabbed the fugitive in northeast D.C.

Federal marshals tracked Daron Dylon Wint, 34, to a Howard Johnson Express Inn at College Park, Md. and found him in a white Chevrolet Cruze in the parking lot, authorities said. They tailed him as he traveled to D.C. with two women were in the car, one of whom was driving. The vehicle was following a white moving truck with three men inside.

Authorities pulled over both vehicles near 10th St. and Rhode Island Ave. and found at least $10,000 cash in the truck. All of the people with Wint were taken into custody, and Wint has been charged with first-degree felony murder while armed.

One of the men is Wint's brother, sources told MyFoxDC.

"Just got him," Washington Police Chief Cathy Lanier said around 11:30 p.m.

Earlier she’d said “just about every law enforcement officer across the country” was hunting the suspect.

Wint was wanted for killings of Savvas Savopoulos, the 46-year-old CEO of American Iron Works, along with the man's wife, Amy, 10-year-old son Philip and a housekeeper, Veralicia Figueroa.
