packy ... I am so sorry about your heart-ache. I have a lifetime of friends that I have lost too. We do our best ... what more can we do? We gave them such a good life. They were blessed, as we were.

I do wonder if this poor baby was starved ... somehow. Sounds like it. Maybe do a search on the net - on that?

My lovely Lucy Beagle has another lump now on her other breast. (Cancer last yer - and surgery). She has a heart murmer and is in her '90's the Vet said. I can't put her thru another surgery - annually??

Wonder if your little honey has hypoglycemia too? That would make her feel starved and needing "fuel".

She would probaby LOVE a little snack or two during the day, for security maybe? Can even break one in half. They don't care about the size, only that you are hand-feeding them! :79

MM as I am waking up here with my coffee, and answering/deleting ... the same picture is to the right of me.
Lucy bundled up - (arthritis), and I have one of these great Duraflame heater/fireplaces on too.

There is SNOW on the ground outside too... in Eugene OR. WOW! Feel like I am back home in PA.
This SURE IS a Christmas Card I am looking at.

BTW today is my Birthday... so I guess it's really like a Winter Birthday Card. :57

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU PACK AND EVERYONE ELSE!! :50

How to disable a cat

This looks like a handy tip...... but I would caution that it may NOT work with older cats.

I have seen Mother cats carry kittens by "biting" the back of their necks and picking them up. The kitten automatically curls up its back legs and tail.. and "freezes" just like the cat in the video.

Christmas is over, but Spydie was "put out" when other humans entered her world.
Now they are gone, and the gifts may be nice, but she is still mad. :97

The one cat of my 6 not mentioned so far is "Birdie"
She was one of the litter of 5 "Birdies" I hand-reared, and one of the two I kept from the 5 (the other was Ppee)

birdie is one of those cats that can walk across the table and knock over everything
total chaos
but cute

Still cute:

murderbythebook Hi!! :86 It is hard to lose any loved one ... isn't it. :97

My Lucy has a lump on her corresponding breast - cancer last summer.
I am taking her to a Holistic Vet and her general health is doing great. THAT can't HURT!
She is in good fighting shape to fight this monster, whatever this tumor is. She told me feeding
pets on kibbel is like our living on nothing but power bars. WE BOTH NEED FOOD!

Had a friend here today. She is the one who used to feed my poor Lilly when she was "out there" -
starving, dehydrated, injured leg, fleas, etc. Lilly still loves her ... and goes near her, and kisses her whenever she comes here.

Today ... Lilly went over to her, and she went to pet Lilly, but Lilly HAD TO REMIND HER, 'HEY - - I'M A CAT. I'LL TELL *YOU* WHEN IT'S OK TO PET ME!!" AND SHE PULLED BACK!!! What IS that? Testing? BUT WITHIN A FEW MINUTES GOT CLOSER TO HER SO SHE *COULD* PET HER. I reminded my friend - "She's a cat, and doesn't want you to forget it - EVER!!"

My dogs would never do this!! :81 I actually love both of them. I think MM has both, also? Dogs are easier to understand?

I bet J. is suffering from untreated Post Traumatic Stress. How do they treat animals who have suffered so - enough to cause that? Just our love?

MM yeaaaaa! You won! I knew you would!! LOVE always wins!

shhhh no I didn't give Lilly her bath. :94
Would you believe I am STILL setting up this apartment?
My husband's dementia and fun and games (my things missing!) is taking it's toll on me.
I have never been old before :45 but I think I could handle it nicely if not harrassed every hour
on the hour.

I do comb Lilly twice a week, and between the two of us, she looks beautiful. I know if she scratches me,
maybe the hospital? I had a friend who got scratched by her cat ... hand got very swollen ... wound up in the E.R.

Our pets are so great for our well-being aren't they? I LOVE my girls.

Lucy will go for a check up to the Holistic Vet in a couple of weeks. I don't think her tumor looks bigger. YEAAA!
I give her a TBS. of salmon 2X a week (no fish oil capsules that day) and an egg 2-3 times a week too.
They said RAW. Are raw eggs ok??

I know humans shouldn't eat raw eggs. I'm wasn't sure about dogs, so I googled "raw eggs for dogs".

This is what I found:

There are two problems with giving your dog raw eggs. The first is the possibility of food poisoning from bacteria like Salmonella or E. coli. The second is that an enzyme in raw eggs interferes with the absorption of a particular B vitamin. This can cause skin problems as well as problems with your dog's coat if raw eggs are fed for a long time.

MM - that's what I thought. Oh boy ... what's with this Holistic Vet now? Actually, the girl at the desk told me that when I was there buying more of her healthy food and vits.

Hmmm to tell you the truth, I was going to poach it or something. Just didn't SIT RIGHT with me! :46

What about Egg Nog? Commercial company's must do something to it?? What about these people that do that with Caesar salads? I always coddled my egg when making that dressing...

Thanks SO MUCH for this!! :19

You're welcome! :54

I don't know about egg nog or Caesar salads, but I have noticed warnings on most restaurant menus about the danger of undercooked eggs. I wonder if organic eggs are safe or safer?
