OH MY. Unless an occasional "litter" comes into a Pet Store, they are all from Puppy Mills!
Well, can't ever say ALL ... maybe say 97%?

And because all of the same breed are put in one vertical cage, mother's mate with sons, brothers with sisters (they don't know or care), and the weak strains that are in them do NOT get bred out. Many people spend thousands of dollars trying to fix the numerous problems of these poor inner-bred babies.

The people I worked with for 35 years helped close many Puppy Mills. My friend who lived in Grace Kelly's childhood large stone home took many of them in and socialized them. Many walked ... like they were walking on eggs. The nails were SO LONG they curled around - as in Chinese nails. Poor babies didn't even know how to walk on grass, or anything!!! Their nails were trimmed and they still walked like that. It took months and months.

I don't like/trust ANY connection with Pet Store animals... or anyone who DOES!! ASK any "animal worker". We should always trust our instincts I have ALWAYS HEARD!!

For years too, I FOUGHT HARD VERY HARD! against Bunchers who collected out pets "Free To A Good Home" and sold them to Labs for experiments too. OMG - awful what is out there!

MM I think that is a very new Vet. I like one with more experience. 5 years? Ha... would we go to a Dentist out only 5 years? Experience DOES count I am sure!!

How clever... Pet Boutiques. Bet he won't DARE say Pet Stores.
Too many people ... know.

Ha, you didn't know I did this too in my lifetime? About 25 years. I came home from work 3:00 AM... set my alarm for 6:45AM. Coffee, looked at the "Free To A Good Home" ads, called them. OMG nobody knew back then what I was talking about. It was sooooo hard. I had to call early, because THEY DO. THEY want to be first and get the pet. That is their living. Sometimes they bring a woman, a child to look like a real family. Sell to Laboratories.

Mine are adopted too.

Hope your nose heals okay, Joni.

And so good of you to try to save those babies from those who pretend they want them but they end up in labs etc. They say don't give any away but charge at least a small amount to help thwart some of those types.

Thanks Pack. No infection I don't think, thanks to MM.

And DELIVER to the house. Find out the address first, check with neighbors. Lots of animal activity going on there?
Where do they work. Call there - check.
Get a Vet reference?
KNOW this - they call first. Very early to make arrangements to pick up the pet!!
It's been so long ... I forget my advice... but DELIVER to their house is number ONE!

I agree. What a wonderful thing you have done for animals! :86

(I tried to post this yesterday, but had all kinds of tech issues.)

Glad your scratches are doing better.

My sweet kitty Scully has given us 6 new furbabies! Five are black with small white markings and one is white with dalmation like spots.

Mal, This is Chairman Meow. No, I don't know a reason for the name. I just know that is what the kids are calling it.

It's a reference to "Chairman Mao" I would guess.

Afternoon, everyone!

Joni - :Gslap about tap dancing Alyce! :DN4

Remote - Hi!
I noticed MM's (I think) cute little "smilie dancer" I had at the bottom, danced in time to the rhythm too!
So cute!! A DUO!!!
Much needed comic relief I think.
This IS the most sickening trial I have ever witnessed! :NN20

She is suppose to get to 7 or 8 lbs. Her mother was silver and her father blue. I lost a very little silver beige poodle at 8 years old from lung cancer. I lost her Feb 8th. this year. She was only 4 1/2 pounds. I did want one a little bigger this time. She looked similar to this one when she was a puppy. That's why I got this one.

I never knew this.

My dog Lucy seems like a child. I call, she comes.
My cat Lilly ... I get the feeling she is somewhat like a wild animal that has come to share her life with me. I am not sure how to express it ... she is gentle, but has a mind of her own. She is very focused, on a bug, outside birds, etc. If I want to pet her, she doesn't always want it... ON MY TERMS. But will come back in about 2 minutes to be petted. So funny ... just keeping me "off balance"? :40

Because my Lucy was bred SO MANY TIMES (Vets even commented - then dumped in the SPCA no doubt to have one of her babies replace her), she must have always had her babies always taken from her! Could that make her have nightmares? OR all the pain of so many many births? I just say "It's OK Lucy ... Good girl Lucy. It's OK." :heart

I think she had children in her life too that are gone from her life. Anytime children came on TV she would look up and sometimes go over to the TV.

I Love Lucy :DN4 (and she loves me)

I'm not sure where to put this quote,
but my daughter sent me this email after I complained about something
my kitty Hopsing did. She says this about her cat:

"Vlad cracks his toenails with his teeth like cracking a nut then chews off the slivers."

I just thought that was worth sharing! :lol
