Me too. Didn't know they had them!!!

You know I have been thinking ... I think some of our pets who were lost out there ... suffered post traumatic stress. And my Lucy too, abused from her owner, (bred almost to death), and in a tiny cage for a month at the SPCA! She did suffer from separation anxiety the Vet said. I think I finally got her over that after years. Had to leave her every night for decades. I could hear her howling ... as I walked to my car. Poor baby ...

Yes, my previous dog, a collie, had abandonment issues. It was particularly severe every time I started boxing up my things to prepare for a move into a new place. I figured that whoever abandoned him must have moved and not been able to take him with them. Even after we were together 10 years, he still wasn't over it.

MM ... poor poor baby. Look how it must have hurt/frightened him. Poor thing.

I think the "pat pat - there there" thing helps them. I did it to Lilly who was really jittery and scary when she came here. AND a dog here too? Also say "It's OK" and I do think they understand that. She didn't know Lucy is very laid back and old. She soon learned I think. When I saw her laying on the foor, sleeping with her paws up, I knew she trusted all of us.

Lucy (fingers crossed) is doing well. LOVES her food now. Goes nuts! Does her Beagle howl if I am not up by 8 AM. Lilly assists with her meows. I have my morning wake up call in STEREO! Love them. :19

How are yours doing? :86

My friend had a Beagle. He would sit in front of the cabinet where she kept the dog treats and howl until she gave him one. Then he would howl for another! :84

Sometimes my Kacie howls for me, usually if I go take the garbage out or if I leave for work, but come back because I've forgotten something... she knows I'm close and wants me back... NOW! :84

Both of my "babies" are doing well. Tiger has become so affectionate. Until a few years ago, I couldn't even pick him up and hold him in my arms and cuddle him. Now when I cradle him in my arms and pet him, he purrs!! He loves me and can't hide it anymore! :8

I think my Lucy would eat a truck bumper if I let her. LOVES to eat!!!
Wakes me up in the morning now to eat her Holistic food! Then Lilly joins in.
So I have stereo whimpering by Lucy, and meowing from Lilly.
I am getting double teamed!!

Thank goodness it's not earlier than 7 or 8 AM.
They are pretty civilized - my girls. :81 :8

LOL I AM retired!

Staryeyes... thanks!! Also LOL here in Oregon. :86
WHEW! Glad we cleared that up!!!

That photo looks like my Lilly ... who was "out there" for a month. Male neighbor moved and didn't take her with him to CA for some reason. She was 3 pounds + underweight. Another neighbor got her, asked me if I thought that was Eric's cat. I said NO. That's how terrible she looked! :97 And limping too. After good Vet care and much TLC here, she turned out to be Eric's cat!! A Norwegian Forest Cat. She is so beautiful I never tire looking at her, and such a great friend to me. :8

I think MM and you Starryeyes should both get a Norwegian Forest Cat... really.

Human almost, but just enough cat to make her interesting! :79

My lazy boy is opposite Lucy's chair. So often I see those beautiful wide set brown eyes (Lucy)
and incredible green eyes ( Lilly) BOTH staring at me before they take another nap.

Lilly sleep on the top back of the chair. With the back pillow, it is about 11" wide. Loves sleeping up there.

Would make a sweet Christmas card.

MM that's what I thought. Lucy has a few of those softer than cloud throws. Berkenshire I think - on QVC.
They are SO great... cloud soft. She loves them. Give her two. One to scruff up, and one to cover her because of her arthritis in her back. She is as happy as I can make her! My dear, sweet old loyal friend ... (NOT YOU MM!!!) :31 lol

Lilly does like high vantage points. I put a fake tree I have behind Lucy's chair. So when she sleeps on the back of Lucy's chair, some branches kind of almost hang over. I try to make her at home.

Her coat is so thick ... Combing her 2-3 times a week.

Oh how did I miss all of these beautiful kitty pictures and loved the video of the Norwegian
Forest Cat. I have a friend who has Maine Coons but no one I knew had a Norwegian.

I had a Tabby who did pass away at about 21 years old and broke my heart.

One of my dogs was adopted and also seems to have abandonment issues. She has to grab food everytime we go outside. I finally had to quit leaving it down. And I feed them separately because she always acts like she is starving. When company would come to the door she would grab a mouthful of food and then bark. She almost choked oned day. It was as if she had gone long without food. She is now a little overweight and I have her on special diet food which helped a lot.
