Ha I talk to my animals! They do love it. I am not sure they are getting ALL of it ... but are so into me when I do it. Love the attention I guess.

Lucy is getting so spoiled. Almost winter here in Oregon ... lots of sprinkles, not REAL RAIN like we got back east. Love the silver skies here out west, when it rains ... so bright! So strange to me, after only knowing black ones back home, when it rained.
Anyhow, anytime there is sun now ... Lucy and I ARE OUT THE DOOR for a nice little walk together. Hurts my knee, but I don't care! :19

Spoiling my girl, big time. Lilly get her share of me ... too! :8

My sweet sick Lucy has arthritis too - hips and back. The Vet told me to make a bed for her on the floor in the L.R. (She usually jumps up on her hassock to get to her chair. Jumping is hard for her now ...)
I did set up a nice soft bed for her on the floor of the L.R.
WHO TOOK IT?? LILLY!!! :6
Lilly has one bed set up on the floor already. Likes to sleep behind my lazy boy chair.

Amazing trip I am on here - with a cat! lol Boy oh boy!!

Image I guess Lucy's new bed was just too tempting for Lilly to resist, even though she had her own comfortable bed!! Image

Maybe if you bought Lilly a new bed, Lucy will claim it for herself, and everything will even out! :84

MM Hi! :79
I bought Lilly a bed when she first adopeted me. Wouldn't touch it. LOVED any boxes I had.
Loves them.

I did fold up one of those great soft soft throws (Berkinshire) and she loved to lay on it, behind my chair.

Why this now? I don't know. I think "she knows". Maybe a bit jealous? I try to be very very fair
with snacks, etc. OMG.

My dog always wants to eat the cat's food and the cat wants to eat the dog's food! I'm not sure if it's jealousy, curiosity, or if they are just bored with eating the same food all the time. I try to be fair with treats, too and give them to them at the same time.

Kacie gets much more jealous of Tiger. She will start complaining (barking) if I spend too much time petting and talking to the cat and will try to scare him away. Tiger will run away, but comes right back. I think Tiger finds it an amusing game.

Hi Joni! :28

Tiger loves bags and boxes, too! Image

When he was younger (and smaller) he used to climb onto the bottom shelf of the frig when I opened it! It was kind of strange, because cats like to be warm!! I was always so worried that I wouldn't notice that he was there. I finally put large items there, so he couldn't do it anymore!

HA HA HA SMART Mama!! WE Mamas somehow know how to avoid problems - not after the fact. :84

Maybe because Lucy was old when Lilly came here 2 summers ago now - wow ... they are cool together. Not really friendly, but never fighting.

I am determined to FIND OUT her age ... and today am going to call my Vet here and ask how old we determined she was when I moved here! (Open Sunday till noon). She was 3 they guessed, when I got her at the SPCA.

Her eyes look a little foggy ... but the Vet said not cataracts. Something else. Forget the name. Such a sweet laid back girl my Lucy. Always was and old now. She was going to be put down ... her last chance "PET OF THE WEEK" on TV. I rescued her. I MUST keep thinking of that ...

IMPORTANT - I THINK!

I am taking my Lucy to a Holistic Vet to help her have quality life for as long as she can.
The Vet explained to me feeding my pets on kibble is like our living on "Power Bars". Yes, they
are balanced, but they are NOT FOOD! What about some real food?? Food is so important to them,
and us. And too, they are like little sponges regarding stress and fighting. NOT good for them nor their health.

While there ... I told them I am also interested in optimum health for my CAT- Lilly.
They told me:
Get a high quality CANNED cat food for her - AND
Get it GLUTEN FREE ~
And GRAIN FREE ~ :19

Cats thrive on "Dead Rat"

Whatever you feed them.. they prefer it to be served at the temperature of a freshly killed rat.

My cats catch rats often... large ones.

They bring them in whole and dead.. as a gift.. that is OK... I praise them and can dispose of a whole rat in the garbage.

They bring them in dead and chew on them and sometimes make themselves sick... not so good.

They bring them in still alive and let them go and play with them... very BAD!!!!

Rat hunts around the house are not amusing

Some good news! Couldn't believe my eyes! :81

Lucy has been on holistice foods since Oct. 25. Today as usual, Tom put Lucy out - first thing. She came back in and looked for me. Came over to me and got down into that puppy/playing stance! Then ~ she ran away, came back and did it again! WHAT - my 95 year old Lucy?? **I am truly seeing the results of optimum nutrition.** She hasn't done that in sooooo many years!

I will do whatever I can to help my sweet Lucy live!! It seems to be working... at least for now. :19

There are Holistic Vets (and they are Vets FIRST then take extra courses) in every state. I only "hoped" and prayed ... but am seeing things with my own eyes!!! Amazing!!
