Lisa Bloom is officially insane. Poor little Trayvon was a victim of racially disparate school discipline. http://www.mediaite.com/tv/ronan-farrow ... nishments/

Lisa Bloom obviously did little or no research on the Trayvon Martin killing. Does she actually believe that Martin was suspended three times for offenses that did not merit the punishment he received? Is she not aware that the Miami-Dade school police routinely mislabeled offenses in order to lower their school statistics for crimes committed by black students? So Martin's offense of "graffiti" was really "criminal mischief," and the "found items" in his backpack was actually "stolen property" and a "burglary tool." If his offenses had been labeled correctly, instead of being suspended from school, Martin would have been arrested and charged with the crimes (and possibly might have been in jail instead of in Sanford where he was killed).

Bloom starts by claiming that Rachel Jeantel’s testimony provided the key piece of evidence; Rachel Jeantel heard Zimmerman attack Trayvon Martin. How? Rachel Jeantel says she heard a thump, and then “grass,” and “a little get-off, get-off.” Rachel Jeantel’s interpretation of what she heard, but did not see, is good enough for Lisa Bloom.

Bloom also claims that Zimmerman’s gun was behind his back, so he couldn’t have gotten it; she calls this her second key piece of evidence. She claims Zimmerman said the gun was behind his back in multiple interviews. In his video walk through with Officer Christopher Serino, Zimmerman says that the gun was on his right hip, and he indicates that visually. Readers can see for themselves.

She also claims that Zimmerman’s head was not banged against the concrete, because “the fight wasn’t on the concrete.” The photographs of Zimmerman’s skull would beg to differ with this assessment, as would the medical experts for the prosecution and the defense. Judging by where pieces of evidences such as keys were found, the fight started at the T and moved up, consistent with Zimmerman’s story.

Her most explosive claim was that Trayvon Martin punched George Zimmerman in the face because Zimmerman approached him with a gun.Trayvon Martin was screaming his guts out, in her version, because a crazy man with a gun was threatening him. Huh? Doesn’t that contradict what she said earlier? Never mind, I’m sure she clears all this up in her book. http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/201 ... ciety.html

Lisa Bloom obviously never watched any of the trial. And she also did little or no research for her book. I think she just used the headlines of articles put out by the propaganda machines...er...main stream media, especially HLN.

Most likely that Bloom did watch, at least, a good portion of the proceedings.

If a writer goes into a case with a very strong point of view ahead of time, it is very easy to notice what fits your thesis, and to ignore that which does not.

I also wouldn't rule out deliberate distortion. My opinion of media has evolved from sloppy bias to deliberately created propaganda.

The Scheme Team is still actively trying to have SYG declared as racist against black people even though the senate judiciary committtee directly addressed this issue with the schemers and dismissed Crumps notion. I still find it absurd these fools are whining about a law that played no role whatsoever in the Dunn and Zimmerman matter: T“We have to look at “Stand Your Ground” for what it is; it’s an attempt by the gun manufacturers to sell more guns through fear,” Davis said of the law that has been criticized for playing to people’s fears and biases.

Ms. Fulton, who sat alongside Davis, echoed the same sentiment.

“People should really take a look at “Stand Your Ground” and really understand that it’s about perception,” she said. “It’s very difficult as a parent to relate to a law that gives a person with a gun so much authority.”

“We have no clue what to tell our teenagers now. How many of our teenagers have to worry now about being perceived as criminals? This method of ‘let’s shoot first and ask questions later’ has to stop.”

“’Stand Your Ground’ is not only a bad law, it’s a biased law,” said attorney Benjamin Crump, who went on to talk about Michael Giles case. Giles, a former U.S. airman, was sentenced to 25 years in a failed attempt to apply “Stand Your Ground” when he was attacked without provocation at a local gathering in Tallahassee, Florida.

“It’s different when minorities claim Stand Your Ground verses the killers of Trayvon Martin or Jordan Davis,” said Crump. http://thegrio.com/2014/03/26/internati ... ur-ground/

BTW People...

The GZ case is OVER.... George was acquitted.

We can take an interest in the sideshow stuff as it dribbles on, but there are a LOT of other topics at RT (900+)

Try the "view active topics" button in the top bar... or browse around the main index page.

If all else fails, and there is some topic you want to discuss that is not there... let me know. :cool

The GZ case may be over, but the media is obviously not done with him.

By "media" I meant the propaganda machines.

yes... by all means.. "fill yer boots"......but it's slowed to a dribble..

REALLY old people may remember TV show (and movie 1948) "The Naked City"? (about NY)

"There are eight million stories in the naked city; this has been one of them"

Naked City (ABC crime drama) - end title (12-19-62)

Not quite 8 million at RT... just 900. I see people look at GZ thread and nowhere else.... just sayin' there are plenty of other topics to read and post in.

Names of six jurors who acquitted George Zimmerman made public

Judge releases names of six women who acquitted Zimmerman in shooting of Trayvon Martin.

By Jeff Weiner and Rene Stutzman, Staff Writers
5:06 p.m. EDT, April 3, 2014

The names of the six-member jury panel that acquitted George Zimmerman in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin have been made public for the first time, after a new court order, records show.

Circuit Judge Debra Nelson, who had previously ordered the jurors' identifying information be kept confidential, granted access to the names in a ruling March 21.

Zimmerman's defense asked the judge in June to keep the names secret until six months after the verdict. The judge set no timeline then, but noted in her new order they have been withheld more than eight months.

Attempts to reach the jurors by phone and in-person Thursday were unsuccessful.

In Florida, the names of jurors are typically public and are announced and used by the judge and attorneys during jury selection.

Nelson's order follows an inquiry last month by the Sentinel.

In a letter, Sentinel attorneys asked Nelson for a specific ruling on how long she planned to maintain the jurors' anonymity, noting it was already "well past the six month 'cooling off' period requested by the defense."

Make it stop. Someone needs to call out $ybrina on her continuous mis-characterization of Florida's self defense statutes.

The statute says nothing about "perceived" threats. It explicitly states that the use of force in self-defense is justified to prevent an imminent use of unlawful force, and that deadly force in self-defense is justified to stop the commission of a forcible felony, or when a person reasonably believes he is in imminent risk of death or great bodily harm.

The standard is reasonable belief of imminent risk of death or great bodily harm, not "perception of crime".

What to tell your teenagers? Easy: don't commit forcible felonies, and don't put innocent people in mortal fear.

Trayvon Martin failed on both counts, and was justifiably killed as a result.

Great comment Chip but I would like to add that according to Andrew Branca's book "The Law Of Self Defense" in addition to

The standard is reasonable belief of imminent risk of death or great bodily harm, not "perception of crime".

There is a second prong that is not addressed in the statute itself but is addressed in the jury instructions. Not only must Zimmerman SUBJECTIVELY believe that his actions were necessary and justified, the jury is charged with determining if any reasonable person in the same circumstance, same facts, and same abilities OBJECTIVELY believe Zimmerman's actions were justified and per the not guilty verdict that answer is YES

Don’t be fooled by fake George Zimmerman art
By Jonathan Capehart
April 7 at 12:19 pm

The story was too shocking — even for the person at the center of it. After all, this was the same man who was going to take part in a “celebrity” boxing match. George Zimmerman, the killer of Trayvon Martin, sold a painting of the hoodie-wearing unarmed 17-year-old for $30,000 in an online auction. The photo of a smiling Zimmerman holding the artwork with “Justice for all” lightly painted in the background is as galling as it is tasteless.

And it’s a fake.

A blog by theHoff71 has resurfaced as the chattering classes at a True Gossip Forum decide to comment.....

Suspicion Nation by Lisa Bloom is Garbage
Posted on March 1, 2014 by thehoff71

“Maddy had had it. The trial wasn’t over, but she was out of there. Rules or no rules, she was leaving. “If they had to put me in jail for going home, then put me in jail.” Three weeks of sequestration with five white women who didn’t understand the first thing about her, who demeaned and mocked and trivialized her, was more than enough. As the only minority juror in the nation’s most watched and most racially charged case in decades, she was done.”

This is an excerpt from Gloria Allred’s hellspawn daughter shilling the latest in a long series of lies, damn lies and falsehoods regarding the George Zimmerman trial. Using Juror Maddy as her personal “insider” into the case, Bloom demonstrates deftly why her book is not worth the paper it is printed on.

Here’s the truth: Maddy is a liar.

In Zimmerman lawsuit, Roseanne Barr admits tweeting family address
But I didn't mean to, she says
By Rene Stutzman, Staff Writer
5:27 p.m. EDT, April 22, 2014

Yeah, I tweeted the address of George Zimmerman's parents, comedienne Roseanne Barr acknowledged in court paperwork this week, but she's also hired five lawyers to defend her against their lawsuit.

On Monday, those lawyers filed paperwork, asking an Orlando federal judge to throw out the suit filed last month by Robert Zimmerman Sr. and Gladys Zimmerman, who accuse Barr of violating their privacy and intentionally inflicting emotional distress.

Barr did post their address on Twitter on March 28 or 29, 2012, she and her lawyers concede, but it an accident – she meant to reply to just one person, they wrote.

"i was actually going2 tweet the person who sent it2 me& tell them to take it down! But i hit retweet instead. Deletd in 5 sec," she wrote March 29, according to paperwork filed with the court.

Even though she published their Lake Mary address and phone number, her lawyers wrote, she's not liable for damages because she was merely putting out facts that were widely available elsewhere, including in the phone book, on the Internet and from the Seminole County Property Appraiser.
