New Zealand volcano: Two British women injured after eruption

Two British women are injured after the White Island volcano eruption in New Zealand which left five people dead and eight others missing.

The two women are being treated in hospital, the UK high commission in New Zealand said.

The commission did not name the women but said it was offering support to their families.

Thirty-four people survived the eruption, with 31 still in hospital, including the two Britons.

White Island erupted in plumes of smoke and ash on Monday as tourists were exploring the popular destination.

1. Tour an active volcano (RIP to the poor souls who did)
2. Take a scenic helicopter tour
3. Sky dive
4. Take a scenic hot air balloon tour
5. Climb Mt. Everest
6. Go open ocean diving
7. Tour a sharia governed country
8. Go anywhere near North Korea

You forgot "Bungy-jump"

THAT has always seemed crazy to me.... mind you I do have a very real "fear of heights" thing...


I have been to the part of NZ where you can see White Island from the shore (Mt Manganui area)... well... you can see the white cloud of smoke and steam... miles out to sea...
