Pop darling Kimbra leads the chase for this year's Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards with a hefty six nominations.
The finalists for the top awards were announced tonight at The Cloud in Auckland.
Along with the Hamilton-born singer, four other artists were named as finalists in multiple categories.
Home Brew and Six60 are up for five awards each, Gin Wigmore has four nominations and Opossom could walk away with three Tuis.
The winners will be named at Auckland's Vector Arena on November 1.Kimbra is in the running for Album of the Year for her debut release Vows, Single of the Year for Warrior, Best Female Solo Artist, Breakthrough Artist of the Year, Best Pop Album and the People's Choice Award.
Vows debuted at number three on the New Zealand charts and has gone on to turn the 22-year-old into an international star. She is currently on tour in the US.
In this year's categories, it's a case of boys against girls. All finalists in the running for Best Pop Album are female - Bic Runga (Belle), Gin Wigmore (Gravel & Wine) and Kimbra (Vows) - while it's all men who make up the Best Rock Album category: Clap Clap Riot (Counting Spins), The Checks (Deadly Summer Sway) and Head Like A Hole (Blood Will Out).
