WOW... Jimmy is the man!!!!! He does pop across to NZ from time to time.... getting old (like me) but still rockin'

The group "Cold Chisel" and Jimmy solo are NOT well known outside NZ and Australia... they should be.

Placebo I came to late... as usual with more recent music.... I discovered them by chance... a song of theirs called "For What It's worth" was used as backing for some cricket highlights on Sports channel... I liked and so searched the few lyrics that I caught... I found that song and the album "Battle for the Sun" I was an instant fan... I even have the T-shirt now. (I did check with my granddaughter who said they were OK... put a bit old by then)

I saw the Warren Zevon version when I went to get Linda..... he wrote it

Youtube have a nasty habit of blocking or deleting vids... If you copy artist and title as a heading above the vid... when it fails I can usually find a replacement.. if I know what was there. With no title it just shows as a grey box.

Placebo have had great success in UK... and also Europe, particularly France. They even have songs (and a hit "Protege Moi") sung in French.... Lead singer Brian Molko seems fluent in French... in interviews and in concert clips where he is speaking to the audience.
They do a good version of "Je T'aime,...Moi Non Plus" which was a controversial hit (banned in NZ) for Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg in the late 60's
