MACRON SHOCK: French president faces NO CONFIDENCE vote TOMORROW - France in chaos

EMMANUEL Macron's government faces a vote of no confidence in parliament on Thursday amid nationwide anger at the French president which has seen riots across the country

Mr Macron's leadership is hanging by a thread after the Yellow Vest protests posed the most formidable challenge yet to his presidency. The disorder, which erupted on November 17, were focused on denouncing a squeeze on household spending brought about by Mr Macron's taxes on diesel, which he said were necessary to combat climate change and protect the environment. But Mr Macron was forced to climbdown from his fuel tax increases, which were part of his effort to combat climate change, wanting to persuade French drivers to exchange diesel-fuelled cars for less polluting models.

However, they have since evolved into a bigger, general anti-Macron uprising, with many criticising the president for pursuing policies they claim favour the richest members of French society.

Bloomberg reporter, Nikos Chrysoloras, tweeted:

"O.K, this is an epidemic now: France’s government will face a no confidence vote in parliament on Thursday, AFP reports."

He said Mr Macron was planning to speak to Prime Minister Theresa May, who also faces a no confidence vote tonight, on the phone.

However, just as the odds were in Theresa May’s favour today, it is likely that the French President will win the vote tomorrow, December 13.

The last French government to be overthrown was Georges Pompidou’s in 1962.

Those filing the motion have just 62 lawmakers out of 577 within the National Assembly, making it extremely unlikely that Mr Macron will lose.

Three German men accused of raping an 18-year-old German woman while on holiday have arrived at a Spanish court this morning.

The group, who were staying in Cala Ratjada, Mallorca, were arrested at the island's Palma airport on Thursday after trying to separately sneak through border security and board a flight back home.

A fourth member of the group was also arrested by the Guardia Civil but later released.

Two of the men reportedly raped the woman while at least one other filmed the attack on his mobile phone, the Majorca Daily Bulletin reports.

The sigh of relief in the leftwing German Forest on Thursday evening was almost audible: At last some reports of "native German" tourists involved in a sexual crime. But it now turns out that German media misrepresented the facts.

According to German media, four “Germans” have been accused in Mallorca of the gang rape against a compatriot. Finally, the leftists cheered the fact that there are actually German perpetrators of a crime that is immediately associated with migrants.

But whatever interferes with the leftist world view must not be allowed to be distorted by facts. The news agency dpa simply ignored a decisive detail in its report on the incident.

Spanish media however reported what dpa had so carefully concealed: The perpetrators are German-Turks. The accusation of fake news has once again been confirmed.
