It seems that this nonsense is within the rules etc? Seems NUTS to me? People say this sets a precedent and the DIMS could one day be on "the recieving end"... but I hope not. It is frustrating but, the bad things that the DIMS do are NOT things that the Republicans should do back... I hope they are better than that.

According to BREITBART.....
Pollak: Senate Can Acquit Even If House Withholds Articles of Impeachment
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) appears to be considering an idea Democrats have floated for several days of holding back the articles of impeachment to exercise leverage over the Senate and the president.
She declined formally to transmit the articles to the Senate on Wednesday evening after the House voted to impeach President Donald Trump.
Unfortunately for them, the Senate can act, regardless — and would vote to acquit.
That’s because the Constitution is absolutely clear about the Senate’s authority. Article I, Section 3 says: “The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments.”
That is all.
The Chief Justice presides over a trial involving the president, but the Senate makes the rules. And the Senate is controlled by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), who regards what the House has done with contempt.
You’re in Cocaine Mitch’s court, now. [.....] If Pelosi refuses to submit the articles of impeachment to the Senate, McConnell can convene the Senate anyway, summon the Chief Justice, and swear in the Senators as jurors. Democrats can boycott, but they can’t stop the trial.
McConnell can then propose to dismiss the charges or even hold a vote to acquit the president.

Sen. Mitch McConnell slams Dem impeachment on Senate floor Streamed live 2 hours ago Fox News
McConnell did good. It seems he can not simply REJECT the silliness from the House and dismiss the charges… NOW… but I see no point in running even a sham trial. The “Articles of Impeachment” are INVALID (IMO)

I see the "Conspiracy Theory" (Sundance)...
That the main point of this Impeachment (and the delay in sending Articles) to Senate.... is to enable DIM "Lawfare" lawyers to pursue the legal maneuvers already in motion .. to obtain Trump financial info, Machan WH lawyer testimony.. and most importantly ALL the Grand jury evidence, testimony etc from the Mueller Investigation. I think that is a STRETCH.. a Conspiracy Theory.. but I guess it's possible? There are REASONS to keep GJ evidence secret.. in fact all evidence gathered against persons who are not subsequently INDICTED should remain secret. That is the basis of Western law (Presumption of innocence). If a person is NOT indicted the they remain "Innocent" and so should NOT be derided by evidence and testimony that did not meet the level of proof.
However.. having said that.. then it is not hard to imagine DIM lawyers seeking suck "evidence" as part of an ongoing "fishing expedition"... They have Trump as their guilty party and are quite openly desperately looking to find evidence of a crime.. any crime.. as yet not known.
Quote:
The Mueller Report is for Obstruction of Justice related to investigation 2016 Election Collusion with the Russians. The Articles of Impeachment are related to Obstruction of Congress related to 2019 Ukraine aid. Why would a judge release grand jury material to the House of Representatives for an unrelated matter?
I see a bit of a “Conspiracy Theory” that maybe the point of this “Impeachment” and the delay in sending to Senate… is to add weight to the legal shenanigans already underway to have Mueller Grand Jury evidence (and other info like Trump financial documents) released. I HOPE that there is no precedent to waiver the confidentiality of GJ material. That would be a travesty. An affront to the basic cornerstone of Western Justice.. THE PRESUMPTION OF INNOCENCE. You CAN NOT release FAILED evidence. However.. ANYTHING seems possible these days. The “Muh Russia” probe is REGARDED as FACT even after failing.
As I have mentioned before… I first saw UkraineGate reported in UK Media… reported as FACT… that there was evidence that “Trump colluded with Ukraine Government to interfere with the 2020 election… AS HE DID IN 2016” when he did the same with Russia. So.. given that mindset… all the evidence in The Mueller Russia Probe.. is seen as evidence of Trump doing the same sort of stuff in 2016 as he is now trying ahead of 2020. It all makes perfect sense if you are a sufferer of TDS.. Imprinted with the notion that “Trump Colluded with Russia to beat Hillary in 2016”

Tom Fitton – Judicial watch… weekly Update…. LIVE NOW
Coup Impeachment Update, Judicial Watch Sues Schiff, Big Federal Court Hearing on Clinton Emails
He has a good suggestion… should have been done before Congress Impeachment vote… could still be done now?
SENATE needs to hold some sort of “Preliminary hearing” now… ahead of any Impeachment trial.. in fact there should NOT be an impeachment trial at all. The stuff in Congress is ILLEGITIMATE. The Senate need to call in Schiff (and others) and expose the nonsense in Congress.
I love the idea… but in reality… the Senate are NOT that great themselves… IF the Senate was a serious body (as intended) they might take up an idea like this… but I can not see with this crop.
---------------------- Among other things… Judicial Watch STILL seeking Hillary email info.
IT IS A TRAVESTY that Judicial watch is not only battling Hillary legal team.. but also the Current TRUMP administration.. State and Justice department. As Fitton says… “Trump should be blowing his top” over HIS departments covering for Hillary! At a hearing this week. Judicial watch had 2 lawyers.. they faced SIX (top) Lawyers from State and Justice departments… as well as TWO lawyers for Hillary and TWO lawyers for Heather Mills… So a Total of EIGHT TOP LAWYERS working to cover for Hillary still.
----------------------------------- The point....
I ACCEPT there will be some people in some (all) agencies, department etc who are "bending the rules".. and easy for that to escalate to be very serious. I can even accept that it is "at the top" and can become so widespread, and taint the entire Agency.
What is FRUSTRATING is that long after this stuff is EXPOSED... it has not been STOPPED and people held accountable.. and so it continues, and in fact spreads and gets worse as those responsible are STILL IN PLACE.. working to cover-up past bad deeds by continuing to do more bad deeds.

I think of it like... ....a bunch of dirty cops make-up evidence against a person and charge him with the crime. When it gets to court the defendant is acquitted ... AND... the dirty cops are EXPOSED and arrested themselves.
So in Trump situation I do think he is "charged" with the silly "impeachment".. but he gets his day in Court (Senate).. at which time he is acquitted.. and they arrest Nancy, Schiff, No-Nads,.. and a bunch more "Bad-cop" Dims.
UNFORTUNATELY... The media and many leftists will forever claim Trump was impeached... because he tried to bribe/force Ukraine guy into making up dirt on Biden... so as to collude with Ukraine to "hack" the 2020 POTUS election... in the same way that Trump colluded with Putin to beat Hillary in 2016.

The 31 districts - DIMS that need an electoral kicking for voting for impeachment
Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey and Collin Peterson of Minnesota voted against Article 1
Another Democrat, Maine Rep. Jared Golden, voted yes on impeaching Trump for abuse of power, but voted no on impeaching him for obstruction of Congress. Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who is running for the Democratic nomination for president in 2020, voted present on both articles.
