Please ignore the sounds in the background of the film, I swear it's only tobacco in the bong that is being lit and toked during the filming.

If only Trayvon had kept his hands in his pockets, none of this would have happened.

From article " tried for five hours that day to get de la Rionda to change his position, telephoned the judge in Sanford several times, and after a five-hour delay, began the deposition without the videotape." (emphasis mine)

So there was no videotape done?

Doesn't appear so. Hopefully the tape will be rolling for round 2 of The DeeDee Depo.

Yep, realitycheck, I was just coming here to break it to Rumpole that he shouldn't have let his optimism come creeping back where this judge is concerned. The OS has updated the story at http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/trayvon-martin/os-george-zimmerman-defense-witness-list-20130326,0,6953235.story and slipped that bit in there. I'll bet Nelson spent the whole 5 hours making excuses not to take MOM's calls, while she frantically looked for ways to give BDLR what he wanted. Did she find them, I wonder? Or rather, did someone find them for her? Stay tuned to this station...

Rumpole made a good argument for the defense eventually being allowed to videotape the deposition.

IF Nelson had backed Bernie and agreed "No Video of Minor Chile adopted by an officer of Da Court" then MOM would not be filing for expenses??

Thanks... I missed that.

It would be a travesty if BDLR got his own way after his tantrum!! :59

I missed it as well. Rene has been making a lot of mistakes in her articles. She never corrects them.

I'm getting errors saying: "You may embed only 1 quotes within each other." Has it always been that way or was something changed?

edit Rumpole
Yes I set things back to 1 quote.
There are lots of errors with corrupted quotes
Hard to fix with multiples mixed.
Nice to quote back to the message you are responding to.
But a whole "nest" not needed

WTH? I thought someone said they DID videotape her. No?

So what does Nelson say now?

It also gets very spammy and creates large posts. Why isn't there a link to the original post when you quote someone? I swear I've seen that before in other forums. I could click on the quote header and it would take me to the original post. Not doable?

Lots of gratuitous quotes = Justarse Quest :lol

Nested quotes = Scared Monkeys (site)

I avoid (and delete) quoting message when reply follows very next post.

Also.. if its a LARGE post, especially with pics and vids.... you can snip it.

Did Nelson rule in favor of BDLR or did MOM fail to SYG?

You would know better than I, but here's my reasoning that she allowed it for the 2nd deposition. First, she didn't give a decision for the one on the 13th and they went ahead sans video, but did record it aurally. The second was on the 22nd, according to Mike McDaniel who said he had a reliable source for that information. Since the motion for monetory damage came out today, I think it's safe to say she allowed it. If not, I doubt that they would have asked for reimbursement.

Like I said, you could probably see if that is correct.

I'm going to guess that it's the latter, but it very well could have been the former.

Another dumb question: why was BDLR even in attendance for the Witness 8 deposition?

Is that MO? Does the defense get to attend any and all depositions conducted by the prosecution? Does the prosecution get to attend any and all depositions conducted by the defense?

And assuming that BDLR was only there to "facilitate" the deposition (since the State, with the complicity of Nelson, continues to withhold Witness 8's address, against explicit rules of discovery), why was he allowed to do anything other than sit there like a potted plant while Witness 8 was deposed? If BDLR is not Witness 8's attorney, why would he be allowed to object to anything about the deposition?

I like your outline, Ejarra... makes sense based on what we know.

@chip It is standard procedure for the depositions to be conducted with both SA and defense attorneys posing questions to the deponent. Likewise in civil actions the opposing attorneys are present and both pose questions.
