I did hope Tony Pipitone might get a little more involved with this case... run with the M-DSPD stuff perhaps?

Pipitone was one of the better reporters on the Anthony case... I know he worked with some posters at WS as well.

I do agree what Nejames is saying ..as a matter of fact I happen to believe the only reason George was arrested and charged were for the very same reasons. *Spark Protests*, and IMO, racial unrest.

I still can't believe this mess is actually going to trial.

If only Trayvon had kept his hands in his pockets, none of this would have happened.

Thank you for posting all of the links to the motions. I cannot believe the defense team has not received discovery yet on George's, Shellie's or Trayvon's phones. I thought they had all of that already.

Red - I too had to laugh at Crump's argument on the HOA Settlement. He opened that can of worms. Oh my

April 30th is going to be very interesting

If he knew the filing to be inadmissible and immaterial, why then did he file it?

Hopefully Crump is called upon to answer that question at the hearing.

NELSON: Mr. Crump, I noticed that you have admitted that the HOA settlement agreement is inadmissible and immaterial to this case. Before I sanction you for filing a frivolous pleading and order you to compensate the state and defense counsel for wasting their time and money, I'm going to give you an opportunity to explain yourself.

Crump spoke to the NAACP in Moss Point, Mississippi yesterday.

http://blog.gulflive.com/mississippi-pr ... min_1.html

Incredibly, he said this:

"There's going to be a precedent set with this (Martin) case," he said. "It is the civil rights case of this century. It will tell how far we have come in civil rights in this country. How far we have come in equal justice," he said. " :TF

He should have said *how he, (Crump), has set civil rights back by playing the race card, threatening racial unrest, and recommending protest marches.

It seems that once the "race card" has been played... it remains glued to the table :eek

It should have been withdrawn when it was revealed that George was Hispanic.. but instead the media (Gutman?) invented the term "White Hispanic" just to keep "Racist" in play. Even so... GZ was demonstrably NOT racist in his dealings with black neighbours.. and was in fact "Cleared" officially when the FBI investigation found no evidence of it in George's past behaviour.

For Crump to be STILL promoting this case as "It is the civil rights case of this century" would be laughable if not for the fact that Crump et al ARE stirring up (imagined) racial grievances and is in fact himself MAKING this case an issue of race.
ANY racial unrest.. riots, death and mayhem will be down to Crump and the usual vocal BGI types (Sharpton, Pink Cowboy hat, etc). It is a shame that THOSE people will not be charged with some race/hate related crimes.... causing death and so a Capital offence.

Even though there is absolutely no evidence that this was a racial crime and the FBI concluded that this is not a racial case. How does Crump go around calling this the "civil rights case of the century?" when it's not a civil rights case? :TF

A nice little summary of what is expected for the hearing on Tuesday! Scroll down to the comments below!

http://www.hlntv.com/article/2013/04/26 ... erman-case

Will next hearing set the tone for Zimmerman trial?

Out of the public eye for weeks, George Zimmerman is finally back in court and HLN will be covering it LIVE on Tuesday starting at 9am.

There is a critical hearing next Tuesday in George Zimmerman's case, and it could be one of the last pre-trial hearings before his trial gets under way.

Jury selection for Zimmerman's trial is scheduled to begin June 10.

Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty to a second-degree murder charge for shooting Trayvon Martin on February 26, 2012. The teenager was returning from a convenience store and was unarmed. Zimmerman told police he shot the teen in self-defense.

At the hearing Tuesday, attorneys will argue several motions filed by the defense. The defense wants the prosecution to turn over phone records from Zimmerman and his wife.

Zimmerman's attorneys also want access to the confidential settlement agreement between the Martin family and the homeowners association of the neighborhood where Martin was shot.

Zimmerman's attorneys are also asking Judge Debra Nelson to sanction the prosecution for violating rules of discovery for failing to turn over evidence in a timely manner.

The court could also hear arguments Tuesday about a motion the prosecutors filed this week. Prosecutors want Zimmerman to declare in open court whether he is going to ask for immunity under Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law. During a hearing held in March, Zimmerman's attorney Mark O'Mara said his client was not going to pursue immunity under the "Stand Your Ground" law and will continue directly to his trial. For prosecutors, O'Mara's statement isn't enough, they want Zimmerman to say on the record whether he will pursue immunity.

The motion prosecutors filed this week asks the judge to advise Zimmerman of his rights under the "Stand Your Ground Law," and to ask him directly under oath whether he is waiving his rights under the law. Zimmerman is expected to attend Tuesday's hearing.

Yep, Bernie sure was pissed when he realized that he might actually have to present his murder case without George Zimmerman ever taking the stand.

Waaaaaahhhhh! Judge Nelson, make them tell us their plans!

As it turns out.... MOM's (often criticised) decision to not proceed with the scheduled immunity hearing in April seems to have been of tactical value if nothing else. :)

Poor old Bernie clearly is in a Tiz-waz over it, and confused about what might be coming his way :95

Tactical points to MoM/West?? :cool

Attorneys in Trayvon Martin case address media

April 27, 2013 07:38 PM EST
ORLANDO, Fla. — The attorneys in the Trayvon Martin shooting say social media gives people a way to stay engaged in high profile cases that was not possible years ago.

Speaking were Benjamin Crump, the attorney for Trayvon Martin's parents, and George Zimmerman's defense attorney, Mark O'Mara. They were talking Saturday at the Florida Associated Press Broadcasters Banquet in Orlando.

O'Mara says he would prefer to "do away with all media" in a criminal case, but "that's a fantasy that is 40 years ago." Crump says social media has given people who normally would not have a voice a way to be engaged in the case.

Zimmerman fatally shot Martin in February 2012 during a confrontation in Sanford, about 30 miles north of Orlando.

Zimmerman faces a second-degree murder trial in June. Zimmerman says he acted in self-defense.

I find that photo of O'Mara and Crump to be very disturbing.

A man's freedom is at stake!

Thanks... I listened while doing other things.

Generally.... MOM did not quite put his foot in his mouth... which is a relief.

But Crump..... where do I start..... he is lying... mis-stating stuff AND he brought up what CTH has identified as stuff to "blackmail" MOM... the passport and Paypal stuff. When he says that if he is deposed he will in turn depose MOM.... WTF is he on about... despite his reputation.. he is not actually a party to this case... he does not get to depose ANYBODY :lol
