Prosecutors release names of 6 'secret' witnesses in Zimmerman case

Prosecutors in the George Zimmerman second-degree murder case on Wednesday released the names of six "secret" witnesses, all of them neighbors who lived near where Trayvon Martin was fatally shot.

The newly disclosed list does not include new witnesses, just several whose identities earlier were kept secret by prosecutors, something both sides agreed would help protect their privacy.
But Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester Jr. ordered the release of the names of witnesses who had previously talked publicly to reporters. Those six were identified Wednesday.

They include a 13-year-old boy who told police that moments before he heard a gunshot, he saw a man in red on the ground.
That's important because there's been a dispute about which person was on top during a fight between Zimmerman, 28, and Trayvon, an unarmed 17-year-old from Miami Gardens. Zimmerman was wearing a reddish-orange jacket, and Trayvon was wearing a dark hoodie.

The just-disclosed names include..
Brandy Green, the girlfriend of Trayvon's father. Trayvon was spending the week with her. She lived in the same gated community as Zimmerman.

Mary Cutcher and Selma Mora, two roommates who heard cries for help and the gunshot. Cutcher told television broadcasters that she did not believe that Zimmerman fired in self-defense, and that he showed no remorse.
Mora told CNN that immediately after she shooting, she saw Zimmerman straddling Trayvon.

Cheryl Brown (W4), the mother of the 13-year-old boy (W14). She was not home at the time of the shooting and did not witness it.

Prosecutors also named a member of the community's homeowners association who told the Miami Herald in March that Zimmerman had been helpful to police in preventing and solving crimes.

Zimmerman's wife, Shellie, is to be arraigned Tuesday at the Seminole County criminal courts building on a perjury charge. That means she'll enter a plea.
Her brother-in-law, Robert Zimmerman, said three weeks ago that she has an attorney, but he would not name that person, and as of noon-time Tuesday, court records showed that no one has formally filed notice that he or she is serving as Shellie Zimmerman's lawyer.

In a street brawl ... might it be possible that at one time one is on top of the other...
and at another time, reversed positions?
Who knows what power a gun might weild? I might listen if a guy ordered me around...
pointing a gun at me and God only knows what was being said by both. This as we know, WAS a fight to the death.
George said I think that he only pulled it out at the end.

I do wonder if the police had their sirens on because I read they were coming in the front entrance just as Trayvon
was being shot.

Good question, but at that point, I don't think LE would have the sirens on, as they didn't know of the actual encounter, ensuing fight or gunfire. They probably thought there wasn't a need to disturb the residents.

You're right that a fight is never static. That is why some finding it "strange" that the body not being found at the original point of encounter, is baffling to me.

I guess most of the time the police don't come in with sirens blazing... that would warn criminals.

It sure does hurt me that this ended the way it did. No sense crying over spilled milk... but
I really wish it had ended another way.
Sometimes, kids do get back on track and make something of themselves. it's just all so very sad the way it "came down"...

Good point about using God as a convenient weapon in this case. I'll never understand that tactic. Especially when Tracy is clearly not qualified to "cast the first stone!"

It's never been clear to me - where does Sybrina fit into the Tracy-Martin-Love-Schedule?

The entire media complex has breathlessly reported on every concern/feeling/untruth and self-serving drama the family members of Trayvon Martin have sought to communicate.

However, there has been little understanding or sympathy for the plight of the family of George Zimmerman – who have had their world turned upside down, through no fault of their own. They have been hunted and threatened, for no other reason than blood lust and an irrational desire for retribution (cash), aided and abetted by the Scheme Team and their enablers at the local, state and federal levels in their quest for “social justice”.

The parents of George Zimmerman, Robert and Gladys Zimmerman, have published their own personal website, to speak out about the Zimmerman case and the impact it has had on family members – unfiltered by the corporate media.

There is also an opportunity to communicate directly with the family, and as well, a link to provide donations directly to the Zimmerman family, unrestricted or managed by the courts or by Mark O’Mara. The truly funny thing is that some do admit that! Next thing they'll do is they'll calculate the Zimmerman's retirement pension money to prove the Zimmermans are liars who don't need the money! Oh, wait. They already have!

Hi Joni! I'm still feeling my way around posting here, too. I just spent a good amount of time answering this post and for no discernible reason, when I hit "submit," it disappeared.

I very much agree with you about wishing this had never happened. I do wish that GZ would have shown some remorse, distress, concern - anything - for having taken a life, no matter how much he never meant it to happen. The Sean Hannity interview was a golden opportunity to engender sympathy for his cause and he flubbed it. Makes me wonder about O'Mara. GZ, to me, is not a "likeable" guy and has pulled some incredibly dumb, self-sabotaging stunts - but Murder 2 - no way.

I had no idea about Roseanne Barr posting the Zimmerman's personal information! What a sleazy and dangerous thing to do!

If there truly is JUSTICE ultimately in this case.....

There will be legal repercussions for all those involved in the political shenanigans that caused GZ to be charged at all...
and.... lets hope George and his family can take civil action as well. It would be a laugh a minute if some forum posters and owners could be included in that, because they are quite obviously engaged in libellous and unfounded allegations about people that they name.

I've wondered about the repercussions of such hateful, free-posting libel. It has come back to bite some to the tune of $$$$$ (there have been articles in the past) and was a constant worry on the more reputable boards.

I was thinking in bed last night - - if we are to believe George ... OK. But then are we not to believe Trayvon's girlsfrield's statements too? Some we accept? Some we reject? How do we determine which? Both would have an agenda I would think ...
Hopefully a trial will help show which one is telling the truth by our trial methods - direct and cross.

I think his girlfriend Dee Dee said George said to Trayvon "What are you doing here?" I think it would have been sensible for him to say "I am the Neighborhood Watch "Captain"... what are you doing here?" Then Trayvon would have known exactly who he was and that might have de-escalated the forth coming volatile fight.

Do you seriously contend that some formal "I am the Neighbourhood watch" would have made the slightest difference and calmed TM?????? A troubled youth to say the least.
