They need to devote their attention back to spending several hours to make a $80 CPU run w/o crashing too often at the speed of a $100 CPU.

Poor Nancy DisGraceFul, yet another one she got completely wrong. I'm sure the whole HLN crowd has no clue how bad they look.

Hmmmmmm wonder if GZ could sue them for defamation as well.

I hope it's almost like a reverse class action GZ sues so many entities including HLN & personalities, MSNBC & hosts, etc.

I hope our Rumpole is finally getting some very, very well earned rest. It's around 6a.m. his time now, so hopefully he'll be up in a few hours after finally getting some sleep.

Congratulations, Rumpole, on a job very well done and thank you for your sacrifices, your efforts, and for providing RT to us! :heart I want you to know that RT greatly helped me get through this. :86

ME TOO !!...I think the problem with most high profile cases are, they are tried in the media, made to enhance political careers and no one worries about the outcome even if it entails wrongful convictions.

I had read a bunch of tweets from elected officials last night, that just floored me. These people are supposed to believe in and stand up for our justice system. When GZ was acquitted, they should have calmed the public by stating something to the effect of "The Jury chosen to decide GZ's fate has made their decision, and that is a decision we must stand by."...wished the family of TM their condolences, and moved on. But, instead, they called it a travesty, unbelievable, some stated they had lost their faith in the justice system, etc....all to reach out, IN MY OPINION, to those who supported a guilty verdict in hopes of future votes.

Nancy Grace...I don't have anything good to say about her, so I will say nothing at all.

Mr. Zimmerman and his dream team need to hold each and every person who defamed, libeled, slandered and made false statements 100% responsible for their actions, whether in a court of law, or force them to make public apologies. Do you know what a forced public apology would do to Nancy Grace's ego ? Oh boy... :94

I don't care how you feel about RZjr (I like him), this is a must see video. RZjr was incredible. As much of a roller coaster as this has been for us, it's nothing compared to what the Z family endured, including death threats, living in hiding etc. Right after GZ's (at least for his family) very emotional acquittal, RZjr is the epitome of grace in this interview, despite boorish Piers nattering and attempts to put RZjr at least "on the spot" if not worse. Wow. :51 Hats off to RZjr and his family.

Hi, gummybear! Great avi! Glad to have you posting with us!

Unbelievable the way this case has been manipulated for personal gain - financial, political, and/or power - by unscrupulous people. We should remember especially the politicians at election time, but also the other schemers so as to never accept their words without major fact checking in the future. This case has been a big eye opener for me.

:Gslap At Nancy (dis)Grace apology - she'd pay the money first. :Gslap But I sure do like the way you think -- get 'em where it hurts!

RZjr - "Trayvon is the victim of many things but he's certainly not and our jury has found he is not... the victim of murder..." Wow. So many great statements and observations within minutes of the verdict. Wow. RZjr is so impressive.

RZjr. "...no, he was armed with the sidewalk, he was armed with his nose-breaking fists, and he was armed with whatever aggression he brought to that moment..."

Ok, no more quotes. You really should listen to the whole thing, posted above and by Rumpole on page 26. of this thread. I know in the excitement I missed a lot of posts last night but will try to catch up*. John Galt also posted a funny Corey/Hitler video on page 26.

*And yes, will try to catch up with all of the pages I missed yesterday morning/afternoon too! :)

:Gslap cherapa1!

I won't be watching Nancy (dis)Grace... I wouldn't give her the additional viewer even for that kind of smack down. :)

Obama has spoken...

“The death of Trayvon Martin was a tragedy. Not just for his family, or for any one community, but for America,” Obama said. “I know this case has elicited strong passions. And in the wake of the verdict, I know those passions may be running even higher. But we are a nation of laws, and a jury has spoken.”
“I now ask every American to respect the call for calm reflection from two parents who lost their young son. And as we do, we should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to widen the circle of compassion and understanding in our own communities,” Obama added. “ We should ask ourselves if we’re doing all we can to stem the tide of gun violence that claims too many lives across this country on a daily basis. We should ask ourselves, as individuals and as a society, how we can prevent future tragedies like this. As citizens, that’s a job for all of us. That’s the way to honor Trayvon Martin."

The Legacy of the George Zimmerman Trial

Here's what I wrote last week on the legacy of the George Zimmerman case. It's as true today as it has been for the past 16 months.

The legacy of this case will be that the media never gets it right, and worse, that a group of lawyers, with the aid of a public relations team, who had a financial stake in the outcome of pending and anticipated civil litigation, were allowed to commandeer control of Florida's criminal justice system, in pursuit of a divisive, personal agenda.

Their transformation of a tragic but spontaneous shooting into the crime of the century, and their relentless demonization of the person they deemed responsible, not for a tragic killing, but for "cold-blooded murder," has called into question the political motives and ethics of the officials serving in the Executive branch of Florida's government, ruined the career of other public officials, turned the lives of the Zimmerman family, who are as innocent as their grieving clients, into a nightmare, and along the way, set back any chance of a rational discussion of the very cause they were promoting, probably for years.
