George Zimmerman is now fighting back in his divorce case.

He's retained a Tampa law firm and is asking a Sanford judge to set aside a default entered against him three weeks ago, according to his new lawyer, Howard Iken of Ayo & Iken.

Zimmerman's estranged wife, Shellie, 26, sued him for divorce Sept. 5. He has yet to file a response.

Iken said that would happen soon.

"The first order of business is to set aside the clerk's order of default," Iken said today.

I assume George WANTS the divorce... and not a reconciliation.

I would agree that he needs to ensure any financial settlement is fair.... so may need a lawyer if Shellie’s side is being daft, but with no kids, and few assets.. this SHOULDN'T be a complicated thing to sort out.

not that it matters but does Shellie have her own suit against NBC? and, regardless of her marital status with G is she due any of his potential judgments? (really?! judgments not judgements?!)

She does not have a suit against anybody that I have heard about

In my assessment she is not due any settlement money, but I can see how it might be argued that she is due some... but again IMO... not much! :stamp

I dare say those are the sort of things that lawyers argue and settle out of court, on perhaps in court.

I would assume the lawyers are needed because of the amount of the liabilities, not the assets (unless George sells a lot more paintings).

renewsit makes a good point... referencing the recent case where an "unarmed attacker" (just like Traybot Worriers keep describing Trayvon)... took the victim's gun (the real victim just like GZ), and used it to shoot him in the head and kill him. Just like Trayvon was trying to do.

renewsit has up dated the story of Thomas Sonnenberg who was killed in his home by Devon Parker.
A key new piece of info is that Parker shot Sonnenberg with his own gun. So yet more parallels with the Zimmerman case, only sadly the opposite outcome from attack by a thug.

Worth noting in the discussion of both cases... compare and contrast the outcomes

Same Scenario as Zimmerman - Vastly Different Outcome

This case now has much in common with the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin case:
Both assailants were young men, 17 and 20, and were black
Both victims, men 28 & 69, were white
Both victims were armed when attacked
    Both assailants were unarmed
Both assailants attempted to take the gun away from their victim

That's where the commonality ends because:
One victim was successful in holding onto his weapon, shooting his assailant, Trayvon Martin. The media skewers the victim and serves him up as fodder for the angry mobs. He is eventually charged with murder and jailed, twice. His life is now ruined while the assailant's family are still, after two years, banking on their son's inability to take George Zimmerman's gun.

The other victim, Mr. Sonnenberg, was unsuccessful in holding onto his weapon and was murdered with it by his assailant. What is the media saying about this case?

Media hypocrisy of Chris Lane murder case
Written by Allen West on February 4, 2014

remember Delbert Belton? How about Chris Lane? But I bet you all recall Trayvon Martin.

It never ceases to amaze me how the liberal progressive media conditions us to focus on what they believe to be important “news” based on their ideological and political agenda. I’ll never forget the constant media attention — and at times wrongful reporting — surrounding the Trayvon Martin case. There were marches nationwide and it seemed the entire country descended on Sanford, Florida.

Remember Delbert Belton? Just a World War II Pacific theater veteran who survived Okinawa only to be beaten to death by two black teens in Spokane Washington. Heard about that lately?

Chris Lane, well, he was the young Australian college student here in America on a baseball scholarship in Oklahoma who was gunned down last summer. Today those charged with his shooting death are due in court. And of course there’s no big lead up, no outrage, no protests.

All these other cases are good reference.. to highlight points in the GZ case.... in the article above, the media coverage (and bias) relates to GZ case too.

If anybody wants to follow any of the cases cited.... start a thread. However, in my experiences many cases hit the headlines briefly and then there is no follow up reporting. So maintaining even a very basic thread on a case is futile. There is no readily available source for details. In that sense we are "victims" of the media as West describes it.

Happens to also be the day that would have been TM's 19th birthday... if he had only kept his hands in his pockets on February 26th 2012, and he had managed to avoid any other fatal event for over a year.

I just don't feel good about George fighting. He couldn't have gotten that much better at boxing since the trial.

It's official ... X gonna give it to George Zimmerman -- TMZ has learned, rapper DMX has just been named Zimmerman's opponent in his upcoming celebrity boxing match.

Celebrity boxing promoter Damon Feldman tells us, DMX was selected out of 15,000 applicants ... all of whom wanted a piece of Zimmerman in the ring after he issued the open challenge to fight anyone willing to take him.

But no one wanted to beat Zimmerman's ass more than DMX.

IF that is true....

A real charmer..
Quote:
As we first reported, DMX promised to massacre Zimmerman in the ring if he got the chance. To be exact, he said, "I am going to beat the living f**k out him … I am breaking every rule in boxing to make sure I f**k him right up." He then said he'd literally piss on George's face.

:Q38
DMX = Earl Simmons (born December 18, 1970)

Rape and sodomy, drugs, etc etc.... so a perfect champion for the hate-filled Traybot Worriers... he looks like "their kinda guy" They always do regard the worst scum in prison as their "Champions" once a perp is found guilty... they see brutalisation, rape and murder as fitting "Justice" once a person is sent to prison... that is their Quest for Justice.

Not going to happen. TMZ is full of it. If it does...I will eat my tablet. Pay per view.
