Dorival actually seemed more relaxed at testifying to the defense!

Again referring to Dorival's testimony and the long sidebar:

The state is doing a great job of calling witnesses that help the defense!

Repeat:

1) No rule against weapons; never discussed firearms with GZ.
2) GZ meek.
3) Wanted to recruit GZ for volunteer patrol but GZ declined, undercuts, if not decimates state narrative of wannabe cop.
4) GZ concerned neighbor; point of contact with police; always professional and polite; etc. etc.; generally GZ is a great guy, great neighbor, pillar of the community.

Add: 5) Dorvial testified that GZ was correct to call NEN under circumstances of aimless walking in rain, implication equates suspicious behavior. Note no mention of appearing to be on drugs, so that wasn't required to be suspicious enough to notify LE.

Ok, so what points have the state made so far? All I can think of is that Chad said TM™ played video games and watched tv with him. Oops, nm, defense got him to say he didn't know if TM™ was on the telephone, so that will be marked very questionable testimony from Chad when the phone records are entered and those dots connected.

Seriously - Can anyone think of any points made by the state yet?

So, this HOA president, O'Brien, seems to be painting GZ as a helpful and concerned neighbor, willing to volunteer his time to help his community.

Can you imagine the witnesses the state decided not to call? They probably showed up for deposition/interviews wearing "I :heart GZ" t-shirts.

I think now that after hearing the calls, MOM should have said to let them continue. I think these calls show GZ was a good citizen and was looking out for his neighborhood. He was respectful in every way and showed no signs of anger. As for things turning out differently that night, it was because GZ was attacked. The other suspicious people didn't ATTACK him. I think MOM could do the same with these witnesses as he did with the dispatcher.

O'Mara clearly paying attention. Just got HOA president to reiterate that the burglar was apprehended because the stucco coordinators recognized him and then followed him from a distance to see where he went.
