Who do you think delivered Rachel to the courthouse today? And who took charge of her after court let out? She can't have contact with anyone connected to te case, does that include the state? Does the state provide for her meals and hotel for the night, along with transportation? I hope the defense has her under "surveillance".

I hope she's not having tea with Sybrinia tonight.

Will West bring up to Rachel that she lied under oath once before and the state admitted it?

Did he not already do that? Maybe I am confusing what came out under direct: 16 YO and hospital? He last went after her conflicting testimony (polite way of saying liar) regarding whether it was Trayvon screaming for help.

I can't believe the TH and posters who think Rachel is just a kid, naive, believable and loved Trayvon so much.

Eeek.

I don't make the news; just report it - not vouching for commenter's statements, just thought y'all would be interested. Warning: Very critical of defense. Found this in comments on Branca's recap:

Thank You ! I don't tweet but good idea about the email. Common sense should have told me just to go to the legal site but I was at work and trying to pop in and out and didn't really think about it. :37

Rachel's acquaintances aren't to happy with her performance today. NatJack is singing her praises. The Scheme Team carried on about one of the reasons for keeping her identity secret was for security. They hinted it was fear of George's supporters. They have used this girl for their own means and she will soon go back to her community, where I fear she will be in great danger from her own.

Traybot or Scheme Team shill.

Defense has beat sparks out of state every day, yet he constantly criticizes the defense, when we are now at a point where black high school girls think that the state's star witness is a liar.

Odd that Rachel is all mixed up and can't say words that people understand about almost everything..

except...

the dates/times of depos and her conveyance of being unhappy about having to come back to court tomorrow

BTW - did Bernie bring on Rachel late in the day....hoping everyone would just "hurry through" Rachel's testimony and end it at the end of today?

Yes, Bernie also pared the script down to the bare minimum.

Rachel Jeantel: Court Antics and How Martin Profiled Zimmerman
By Jeralyn, Section Crime in the News
Posted on Wed Jun 26, 2013 at 09:32:10 PM EST

Rachel Jeantel was a train wreck as a witness. She did not help the state's case. She exposed the manipulations of Team Crump. She was impeached on a few significant matters (see below the fold.) And she admitted multiple lies. It was cringe-worthy but you couldn't take your eyes off it.

Most strikingly, she made Trayvon Martin out to be the profiler of Zimmerman. She said (on direct exam no less by the prosecutor) that shortly after first spotting Zimmerman, Martin described Zimmerman to her as a "Crazy-a*s Cracker" and later, described Zimmerman a few times as "this ni*ga" (as in this ni*ga following him.)

At her deposition, she couldn't identify Trayvon as the person crying out for help. Today, she tried to deny it, but when impeached with the transcript, admitted she told the defense, "It could be, like I said, I don't know. He has a baby voice some days, you know it's not."

Her answer to why she didn't tell the police about her being the last one to speak with Trayvon was laugh-out loud funny: "They said they got the guy, I thought they were supposed to call me."

From CTH, I don't post there but read often, too religious for me.

Was Trayvon Baker acted on the first of Feb?
Is that where she saw him again?
Can West ask her where she was when she came in contact with TM again?.

That would explain the sudden re-connection, that was something I couldn’t understand today.

West did ask this today and she told him Trayvon came to her neighborhood b/c his friends live there and they all laugh and hang together there..

I would question who the friends were (Kit Durrant (sp) possibly? I have no clue just wondering) and where she lives in relation to TM's friends. This would tie in well with them knowing each other and what SD is saying about the public school program.-guywitharod

IMO
A skilful interviewer could get Rachel to say just about anything.

There is no doubt some grains of truth in there. She did talk to TM on the phone.

But that is now all mixed up with what Crump and BDLR and others coerced her into saying.. even coerced her into believing in places (at least).

This is a mess. She needs to be in counselling/therapy. Even then I doubt that the facts could be fully untangled from the fiction. It would take months or even years.

As I have said... she may simply not be able to remember stuff accurately, if at all from over a year ago. And all the false memories imposed on her will only add to that.

And on top of all that alcohol, illicit drugs and prescription meds could be in play too.

Mark Geragos on CNN tonight hinted he was aware of some inside information that the cell records are very problematic and that was why Don West spent an unusual amount of time having RJ confirm the start/stop times of many calls.

Dee Dee Summary from Legal Insurrection -

Zimmerman Trial Day 3 – End-of-Day Analysis & Video of State’s Witnesses
Posted by Andrew Branca Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 7:50pm

At the start of day two things of note occurred. First, the Court ruled that Zimmerman’s prior calls to police would be admissible as evidence. (Accordingly, later in the day Ramona Rumph returned to Court to testify as to their authenticity.)

Second, the Court dismissed one of the alternate jurors (B72, the gentleman of the one-armed pull-up). Although it was first reported that he was dismissed for the day, in fact any juror that misses any part of testimony must be dismissed from the case entirely. So, we’ve lost our first alternate juror, on the third day into the trial.

[...]

Rachel Jeantel, aka Dee-Dee, aka “16-year-old girlfriend”
Next up was Rachel Jeantel, of famed Dee-Dee fame, and the once-upon-a-time purported 16-year-old girlfriend of Trayvon Martin (but who turned out to be neither 16-years-old nor his girlfriend).
[...]

n summary, Jeantel testified that she was in communication with Martin in the minutes leading up to the confrontation. She testified that he described being under observation by Zimmerman, then being followed by Zimmerman, managing to break contact and then being under observation again, and finally a brief verbal exchange before the phone connection was lost.

Anyone familiar with the backstory of Dee-Dee knows there is more than adequate fuel for real fireworks on cross-examination, but West handled her more or less with kid gloves. It is my sense, however, that he is preparing to bore in more aggressively tomorrow when he continues her cross. This seems particularly likely because at the point the Court recessed for the day Jeantel had begun to resist acknowledging prior sworn statements and West was preparing to spool up the audio recordings of those interviews to use in cross.

Despite the frequent difficulties in understand Jeantel’s responses, however, on one point she was abundantly clear–she was NOT happy to be in court. When she learned just before the Court recessed for the day that West anticipated cross-examining her for another two hours tomorrow, she burst out with an incredulous “WHAT!?!?!?” I’m pretty sure even people standing outside the courtroom heard that exclamation.
