I suspect they'll just move on, maybe after private notification. Several months from now, there may be a back page small inset notification for the public, those that still care. We've all seen a lot of stories just "end" as in, never get mentioned anymore. A lot of the people showing up at rallies now are only going because of the celebrities there, because they're told they should care, and some are paid to be there, I've heard. This story will, despite present appearances, be very easily left behind. There's really not that many that care, personally, in the grand scheme of things. JQ and their ilk will have moved on to other cases... etc.

I used to greatly admire Colin Powell. I don't understand how he lost so much of his obvious intelligence he once had. Does it leak out of holes in his head, ..... or what?

Seriously - doesn't their switch to SYG seem pathetic and inept? Like they were desperately trying to salvage something from all of the work and money they'd put into this effort? None who truly understand SYG think it's bad, but they were desperately grasping for something, anything, they could try to connect to the GZ case so they could try to salvage a "win" of any type, and they chose very, very poorly. No doubt, influenced by anti-2nd amendment types, they've set themselves up to lose again. After staking so much on such a public loss, how much more will they risk losing on this pitiful and certainly doomed effort to repeal SYG?

I hope one thing Colin Powell said comes to fruition..."he also said cases like Martin's "blaze across the midnight sky" and are forgotten"...also agreeing with liesel...

First goal..get them "out of sight"..."out of mind" will follow.

This case has brought out a lot of surprising statements from a lot of people, and sadly a lot of statements that weren't surprising at all.

All the components of Trayvon's law are laughable at best. They should have added...Skittles and Ice Tea...Opps...Watermelon Fruit Drink will be the official snack of the US...Hoodies and Trayvon apparel will be required uniforms in all schools...Creepy Ass Cracker Ass Whooping will be a required course for HS Graduation...

BTW...does Tracy have on "Trayvon" underwear too?

Where was Crump? Did anyone se him?

Now that the POTUS and Holder, among many others, have weighed in on the plight of the black man, inferring TM was a victim, not because of his own actions, but because he was profiled (just like every black man experiences) how will Holder get out of filing civil rights charges against George? 1.5 people signed Ben Jealous's bogus petition, Dream Defenders invaded the Florida State Capital, Trayparents were front and center at the 50th Anniversary crying racial profiling, King III did the same, thousands carried Trayvon signs at the march and are calling for Trayvon's law. What will happen if Holder says there are no grounds for a charge? These people expect the charge to be forthcoming. Will Holder put an end to this once and for all by exonerating George of the racist label? If he does, it will prove all of them wrong. Will they accept that they were wrong? I doubt we'll hear Sharpton, Jackson, Trayparents etc. concede. What will follow? Or will Holder say something to appease the masses...we know he's a racist, but we just can't prove it...which I don't see going over too well. How can he can get out of it without the same fears that got George arrested in the first place.

Well, here's a fine mess you've gotten into Mr. President and Mr. Holder.

It would not surprise me in the least (and I hope I'm wrong) for Holder to arrange for fabricated evidence for a hate crime and/or civil rights violation. I think that's the purpose of the "snitching email" that he published.

Under other circumstances I'd agree with you. But not now, not this case. Too many know the truth.

Holder won't do anything. Although we have been told the process is ongoing, there is no evidence. Nothing will be fabricated.

Oh, I have zero doubt that the DOJ would railroad anyone, with the very least of justification, for purely partisan and/or personal reasons. I just don't think they'd get away with it in the case of GZ. Consider all of the backlash already being felt by the BGI lately. Also consider this:

ThomasLifson wrote:
Will Eric Holder ever learn to be careful what he asks for?

Eric Holder, perhaps the worst, most corrupt attorney general in history, famously demanded Americans stop being cowardly and have a conversation about race. Well, in the aftermath of the deaths of Trayvon Martin, Christopher Lane, and now World War II hero Delbert Belton, I don't think he likes the frankness he is starting to get from whites and other nonblacks*.

This segment of The Morning Joe is absolutely mind blowing. They are sooooo offended by George's visit to the gun factory.

I still have my doubts about the statement from O'Mara's office. If true, why would they say anything about the gun that shot Trayvon "thru the heart"? Morning Joe is all over that statement, among other things, including George "disobeyed the cops orders and kept chasing this guy"!!

Yep, another episode of "Trayvon's World".

As you noted, the statement was from MOM's office, not from him directly. I suspect the "heart" was a flourish added to the question, not something volunteered by the rep. Of course, I didn't go back to check, so could be not remembering correctly.

I checked some old articles for the spokesperson's name (I forgot it :D ) and it appeared elsewhere from a couple of months back.

Did you see that there was a tweet the other day from MarkOMaraLaw?
