Carter is going to be used to explain that what happened to George is what permits one to use FORCE in SELF DEFENSE.

So glad my bad feeling was just carry over from bad ruling and still annoyed/disgusted by Nelson's smirk.

And so very, very glad the defense are so adept at turning witnesses to pro-defense!

HEEEEEE State and Nelson thinking, "uh oh, we never realized that the defense would use these guys to teach the jury finer details, this could actually be the BIGGEST factor in the defense winning this case. We need the jury to completely understand self defense, we already know George used it properly, that's not even debatable.

:lol

Weasel keeps objecting about presenting what the law is... that's Nelson's job... but ALL West has to do is occasionally say... "how would you explain it to your class" and carry on getting the guy to explain the law to jury

Nelson can NOT stop him from testifying to ALL he taught ...which was evidently quite a bit.

"eminent injury ...fear ...the fact that there were injuries blah, blah, blah"

What she deserves is a lot worse than zero respect. Honestly... We've all seen comments from local defense attorneys who say this is par for her course. This isn't just her personal contribution to the political lynch mob; she's this bad to all defendants* accused of a violent crime.

*Hornsby said she can also be very compassionate for things such as drugs, etc.

State just made the biggest mistake of this case, absolutely HUGE. I was so worried that the jury would simply be too stupid to understand self defense enough to know George used it properly.

West resumes questioning about the Stand Your Ground law.

Carter says the class work was not contained in the book.

West asks about the Castle Doctrine and its meaning of meeting force with force. “Correct,” Carter says.

West asks about the later change in law allowing the concept to be allowed outside the home.

Carter says there was a presumption of fear for life inside the home and it extended outside the home, but there wasn’t the same presumption.

He adds that if you’re in your home there’s a reasonable fear for death

Mantei objects.

Judge Nelson tells the jury they will be given instructions about the law. She tells West his question needs to be about what Carter taught in class.

Carter explains what he taught in class about the Stand Your Ground law saying the actions would be judged as to if they were those of a reasonable person.

Carter says the totality of the circumstances is important.

So if TM thought he was in danger and even if George pushed or grabbed him, TM went to far. He became the aggressor. Add to that, no evidence of injuries to TM. Shut the BBQ down, this is done.

Weasel gets an objection sustained... West being too specific..... Nelson to the rescue... but its a bump in the road not a barrier.. :)
