Guy says the human heart has many functions and most importantly moves us, inspires us and guides us.

If we really want to know what happened on that dark rainy night, should we not look into the heart of the grown man and the heart of that child, Guy says.

He says the defense attorney can make fun of the way Guy says the expletives Zimmerman said, but it was in the heart of Zimmerman.

He asks if it is normal language or in Zimmerman’s heart when he approached Martin.

Guy says the 10-foot long timeline O’Mara used skipped the expletives.

He asks what was in Martin’s heart. “Was it not fear that Ms. Jeantel told you about?”

Guy shows a slide with the quote “What are you following me for?”

He asks if being followed on the way home in the dark is every child’s worst fear.

Guy quotes a saying, “As a man speaks, so is he.”

He says the defendant had a motivation to lie to justify his actions.

A window into a man’s soul is the words from Zimmerman’s mouth in that phone call, Guy says.

Guy says Zimmerman telling Noffke to have the officer call him showed he was not going back to his car or the clubhouse.

There are only two people on earth that know what happened, he says.

He says Zimmerman told lies over and over again.

12:06 p.m.
The jury is reseated. Prosecutor John Guy begins the state's response.

I cannot believe he's now claiming the "thump" #8 lied about hearing was the gunshot!! Un-freaking-believable. MOM is going to have to object at some point over flat out lies, frowned on or not.

MOM is doing well... but one point I dont think he did not stress enough is that ....

So far the State has NOT put forward their theory... pre-empt the fact that what ever case they have... they have delayed for Guy's rebuttal.... point out that is a TRICK.

MOM does not get a turn after guy... have to preempt.

Yes, that would have been good and you know I thought he should begin and end with the 40 seconds. But it was a very effective close, imo. :)

Nelson gave the jury the option to go to lunch, or to go straight into rebuttal.

Jury: "let's get this over with"

I want to believe that means they're expecting to go home as soon as they acquit GZ and don't want to delay it any more than they must.

That may not be 100% accurate, depending on WTH Florida law is and what Guy does ...this is "rebuttal".

Rumpole is right - the state gets the last word because they have the burden of proof. The defense is done.

Is John Guy really a licensed attorney? Or is he someone that Corey dug up from central casting down at Universal Studios?

Man oh man, I am so worried that George might have to go to jail. Please tell me folks, really, will this jury send him to jail? I just want this nightmare for that good family to be over. It will never stop effecting his life, but I can assure you he will feel a LOT better if the legal garbage is done and he knows he will spend no more time locked up.

I'm with you -- this is a very good family and none deserve this nightmare. Most legal eagles I've seen predict acquittal in a very short time but no one really knows for sure. Juries are funny things.
