No. Broken nose = great bodily harm. GZ had already suffered great bodily harm (broken nose and lacerations / bumps on the back of his head) and the beating continued. How can it be argued that he didn't reasonably fear great bodily harm from Martin's continuing attack, when Martin had already inflicted great bodily harm?

Aggravated battery cases, which require great bodily harm, w/ broken nose:

The broken nose itself meets the separate, forcible felony threshold to justify the use of deadly force in self-defense, since aggravated battery is a forcible felony under Florida statute.

I just get tired of hearing crap like, Zimmerman's head didn't bleed enough to be consistent with his description of the altercation.

If only Trayvon had kept his hands in his pockets, none of this would have happened.

ok, Each state application for the Paul Coverdale Forensic Science Improvement Grant requires each forensic laboratory system, medical examiner, coroner, storage facility applying to certify that a government entity exists and an appropriate process is in place to conduct independent external investigations into allegations of serious negligence or misconduct. Florida received this money, so they must of filled in this form pg 31-32. https://www.ncjrs.gov/pdffiles1/nij/sl000921.pdf

Still no response from Bernie to the motion for sanctions for obstructing the video depo. I wonder if Corey will cut MOM a check to avoid an embarrassing hearing.

That would be the easiest solution on motions.. essentially focused on reimbursing costs. Uphold the motion.. State to pay. The money is not important... it's not their money.. it's Florida tax-payers.

But.. can they do that?

A financial settlement with no censure of the wrong doing and disciplinary action on Bernie himself?

Why not? State reimburses MOM and he withdraws the motion. No pesky court order of record that Bernie got himself sanctioned for violating the rules.

Ok yes I get that.

MOM gets his costs and then withdraws motion sure.... but an optimist might imagine MOM would not be happy with that. He would want the matter ruled on. That is MORE important that the reimbursement for piddling costs incurred.

But what about Nelson essentially agreeing to the motion... but imposing no sanctions other than costs.

Nelson is unlikely to do anything to Bernie in any event. Keeping the lights on through trial may be a major concern.

I do agree with you, John.

I just can't break the habit of posting and thinking sometimes, as if this were a case in the real world where logic applied, and laws and legal precedents, once cited, were taken notice of. A place where people might try a few tricks.. but were embarrassed and had to stop once their schemes were exposed.

Not that Nelson would care, but I remember MOM saying that the main issue wasn't the money; what he wanted was for the rebuke against State to teach them to stop withholding evidence.

It appears that the new Police Chief of Sanford is married to a white woman. Ya think she told him to honor the death of Trayvon? :95

Here is one of his "safe" tweets that don't list personal info. You can easily find unsafe tweets by scrolling through his tweets.
