Thanks for the link, Carm, I read it all :)

She basically says the same thing in each paragraph, reiterates in a different way.

Then I took a look at her Twitter TL, very interesting (to me).

Thanks for the analysis Dakota my eyes started to glaze over pretty quickly while reading it, but I'm sure that you are spot on that she just repeats herself. I don't know if I'll be able to find her twitter.

Oscar Pistorius's cell 'raided by prison guards' over links to crime boss
Pistorius was targeted because of the 'close ties' he forged with mobster Radovan Krejcir, it was reported

By Stuart Graham, Johannesburg

(excerpts)
Prison officials in Pretoria confiscated a computer hard drive from paralympian sprinter Oscar Pistorius during a raid on his prison cell earlier this year, as part of an investigation into a Czech mob boss, according to reports.

The Johannesburg based Sunday Times newspaper said the raid on Pistorius’ cell in the hospital wing of Kgosi Mampuru II prison in Pretoria happened before dawn on May 15.

Pistorius, 28, was targeted because of the close ties he forged with mobster Radovan Krejcir.

Krejcir was found guilty last week of kidnapping, attempted murder and attempted drug dealing by the high court in Johannesburg.

“We know Oscar and Krejcir were spending a lot of time together in prison, so we wanted to get to all of those who seemed closed to Krejcir,” a senior police official told the newspaper.

In March a video filmed in secret by an inmate at Kgosi Mampuru II that showed the athlete playing soccer with Krejcir in a prison courtyard, was published online.

Police spokesman Solomon Makgale confirmed the raid on Pistorius’ cell, but said that no evidence of any criminality had yet been found.

“There is no evidence at this stage to link Pistorius to any criminality, but we are still awaiting analysts reports about the contents of the items confiscated,” he said.

CAPE TOWN, South Africa -- Prosecutors are persisting with a "failed case" by taking an appeal against Oscar Pistorius' acquittal for murder to South Africa's Supreme Court, Pistorius' lawyers said Wednesday.

Pistorius' lawyers met a Thursday deadline to respond to papers filed last month by prosecutors, who want a panel of judges at the Supreme Court to review Pistorius' case and convict him of murder for killing girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in 2013.

Oscar Pistorius still in jail after parole decision delayed in South Africa

BBC News | October 5, 2015

Oscar Pistorius must remain in jail and not be transferred to house arrest after a decision to grant him parole was again delayed.

His lawyer Brian Webber told the AFP news agency that a decision over his early release has been referred back to the parole board.

[...]
The parole review board - the final recourse for parole disputes - met on Monday to decide if the star, 28, should be allowed out on house arrest.

A definitive parole ruling is now unlikely to be made before the athlete in a separate legal process appeals against his conviction on 3 November in Bloemfontein.

This ruling could result in him receiving a longer prison term.

Oscar Pistorius released a day early to finish sentence under house arrest

Oscar Pistorius has been released from prison and will serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest at his uncle’s house, less than one year into a five-year sentence for shooting dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

Pistorius’s family had been expecting his release on Tuesday morning, but late on Monday night his lawyer said the former Paralympian was already at his uncle’s house.

“It will be very good. He should have been released on August 21,” his lawyer Brian Webber said shortly before his release.

Pistorius family spokesperson Anneliese Burgess said he was at his uncle Arnold’s house in Pretoria, adding that the family was “hunkered down”. The family will issue a statement on Tuesday.

[...]
Late on Monday night, Pistorius was taken from his cell to the residence of his uncle, Arnold Pistorius, in Waterkloof, an upmarket Pretoria suburb. The house is a three-storey converted Dutch Reformed church on a luxury estate, and has a swimming pool.

The decision to move him from the prison a day early – to avoid a media circus on Tuesday morning – was made by the management of Kgosi Mampuru II prison, the department of correctional services said in a statement. “Oscar Pistorius was placed under correctional supervision tonight. The handling of the actual placement is an operational matter of the local management, and how they handle it is their prerogative that is carried out in the best interest of all parties concerned, the victims, the offender and the department of correctional services.”

Good news, though it would make more sense if he was free to pursue what is left of a career.

Nasty Nel is still bitter and twisted.. they need to lock him up IMO

He is expected to remain under correctional supervision, or house arrest, until 2019, pending the outcome of an appeal by prosecutors that could yet see him returned to jail

Well I am happy that he was released before the media knew it and they lost out on all photo opportunities.

I hope Oscar finds some peace.

Well it has all kicked off in Jo'berg today, they are trying to get him back to serve 15 years in jail. Mind you, his house arrest seems very pleasant, he can come and go, and can train. What a gorgeous house his uncle has. I have no idea what his uncle does for a living, but he certainly seems to be wealthy.

It will be interesting to see how this goes. Nel is in his glory.

Oscar Pistorius murder charge sought by S Africa prosecutors
39 minutes ago

South African prosecutors have started an appeal hearing on whether athlete Oscar Pistorius should be convicted of murder instead of culpable homicide.
[...]
The proceedings are being broadcast live on television.

State prosecutor Gerrie Nel has been outlining the state's case for the verdict to be changed to murder from culpable homicide, or manslaughter.

The five appeal court judges will not be considering the facts but the application of the law, in what is expected to be a highly technical case, the BBC's Karen Allen in Bloemfontein reports.

The prosecution says that Judge Thokozile Masipa incorrectly applied the law of murder. It argues that Oscar Pistorius should have foreseen the result of his actions, namely that shooting four times through a closed bathroom door would result in a person's death.

This is ridiculous.... the trial was a farce in the first place.. driven by a vindictive little shit.. Gerrie Nel... on top of that the police investigation was fraught with sloppy work AND corruption.

This is plainly DOUBLE JEOPARDY... Nel is trying to try the same case.
