Man Arraigned On Second Degree Murder Charge In Renisha McBride Death
November 15, 2013 2:13 PM
By Christy Strawser, digital director

DETROIT (CBS Detroit) Theodore Paul Wafer, 54, is charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter and a felony firearm charge in the shooting death of Renisha McBride, 19, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced during a press conference Friday.

Wearing a casual gray T-shirt and jeans, Wafer had a court hearing at 2 p.m. — where he waived a hearing on the charges. He said only one word — “yes” in response to the judge’s question about whether it was his decision to waive.

The prosecutor sought a $250,000 bond for the man who was identified as a 10-year worker at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. The judge concurred with that bond “due to the seriousness of the charge,” though the defense noted Wafer has a mostly clean record — except for an old driving under the influence conviction — and a high security clearance at his job.

Wafer had reportedly told police he killed McBride — whom Worthy described as “bleeding and disoriented” after a car crash — in self defense.

So meme 2 is that the fact that she was totally stoned and shitfaced has no bearing on him shooting her. Really?

I certainly can not see it being unreasonable for him to open his door... with gun pointed and ready to fire (safety off). What is the point of having a gun to protect yourself otherwise? I also can not see him INTENTIONALLY deciding to shoot her. It was an accident. If only she had stayed in her (crashed) car none of this would have happened.

I'd like to know more about the weapon involved.

This is not Florida... with "Sunshine Law"... how much evidence are we likely to see... and when? I just KNOW the case will be "tried in the media" and that worries me.. with a "Family attorney" already putting out biased (and inaccurate) statements. Another MSM Circus... and a Guy's life and liberty at stake.

Oh my God.... the race-baiters can not let a crisis go to waste... it just HAS to be all about race if a black person is involved.
Dang how can NastyJack and Crump get a piece of this action?

Lets get drunk and go to Nasty's house and demand she let us in for tea and scones.

BTW, CNN just shut down their comments on the story at 4300 posts.

Exactly this! :94

I believe he should have been charged with Involuntary even Voluntary Manslaughter but that was before reading about the screen door being locked.

The good news is the lesser included, right?

Open invitation for Crump to leave Kendrick J alone and shuffle his big butt to Detroit because he is a hero to minorities...except for Hispanics...they don't count.

:NN20

He should be charged with being White when there was a black person nearby... it seems to be a crime. He shoulda kept his fat ass in bed and hid under the blankets!

DEB!!! :fish

I keep telling you (and others) you CAN NOT quote an embedded tweet... it don't work... and besides, a LOT of quotes are unnecessary.. this is NOT InSession2 (formerly Justice Quest) :)

When you TRY and quote a tweet.... your reply gets mixed in with what you are quoting.
