Puzzler ... yes. Physical abuse escalates too. They test the waters, know they didn't get CALLED on it and escalate.

5:29 p.m. ET: LaViolette said text messages between Arias and Alexander from May 30, 2008 to June 2, 2008 seemed conversational and normal.

5:28 p.m. ET: Arias wrote in her journal that she initially told Alexander she would not visit him during her road trip on June 1, 2008.

5:25 p.m. ET: Arias wrote about how on her roadtrip in early June 2008 how she planned to stop at her ex-boyfriends' homes along the way.

5:23 p.m. ET: LaViolette said Arias wrote about visiting Ryan Burns in Utah in early June 2008, and she seemed excited about it. Burns testified earlier in the trial that he kissed Arias the day after Alexander died on June 5, 2008.

5:21 p.m. ET: Arias also wrote in her journal about how Alexander was like her father. They both said rude things and made up for it later.

5:19 p.m. ET: LaViolette said Arias also wrote about how she was trapped in a cycle with Alexander where he gets mad and they make up.

5:17 p.m. ET: Arias wrote about all the horrible names Alexander called her in her journal. LaViolette said she did not give many details about the names, and she seemed to minimize Alexander's verbal abuse.

Joni - I think the defense has shown that Travis was not a virgin when he met Jodi?

He wasn't a "saint" and I don't like anyone being portrayed like that, but it doesn't excuse Jodi in any way.

What does everyone think about Juror 5 being allowed by the judge to observe the trial?

Is she causing a problem or does it show she really wasn't let go for a good reason by the defense?

She needed the special escort guard to come in and judge has ordered no one to approach her.

The jurors have looked over at her.

I was stunned to hear that Juror 5 is in the court room.

IMO, it's disturbing...it immediately made me think: boy, this juror is showing belligerence - the I'm going to be a part of this no matter what you say. After thinking about it awhile....I still have that same initial opinion.

I think that juror has a lot of guts showing up (I've never heard of that before) and mostly I think that this display shows the "attitude" she must have had going while she was still a juror.

Another thing that disturbed me was that talking heads on HLN talked about Juror 5 like she was a rock star - sitting on the edge of her seat all the time, right in the middle, animated, couldn't help but look at her....hmmm....is that juror more interested in the trial or more interested in her own personal show?

Puzzler - I agree that it shows defiance! Wow. Maybe she feels quite wronged after putting in so much time. I wonder that the judge allowing her shows she was taken off the jury for little reason, yet had to comply with the defense request due to appeal issues down the line?

5:53 p.m. ET: The judge has recessed court until 6:10 p.m. ET.

5:50 p.m. ET: LaViolette said with some of these women Alexander tried to push the sexual boundaries as far as he could. He asked one woman how far they would have to go before they would have to go to see the bishop.

5:47 p.m. ET: Alexander told one woman he was having sexual conversations with to read the Book of Mormon just like he did with Arias according to Arias.

5:45 p.m. ET: LaViolette said Alexander told a woman around June 2008 that he had a stalker.

5:44 p.m. ET: The attorneys are still at a sidebar with the judge.
