Also.... its been a while... but as I recall.. not everybody would agree with the suggestions made in the book... so "prescribing" that puts Samuels in a position of "prescribing" a treatment not necessarily appropriate.

As a psychologist he should know better.

Samuels actually transcribed JA's answers later.. because he did not have an answer sheet with him when he administered the test. THAT in itself marks him as a bit shonky... WHY did he not take an answer sheet with him.

Martinez is right again. If Samuels thought Jodi was suicidal - it was his professional duty to contact the health officials at the jail. Threatening suicide overrules confidentiality.

What was he thinking? :2

On Arias Test:

Martinez pointed out that some of Arias answer's -- especially regarding sexual assault and childhood abuse -- do not match her earlier testimony.

OMG! Samuels was disciplined in the state of New Jersey for having inappropriate boundaries. :95

I'm not that surprised. His behavior with Jodi crossed over boundaries.

He does not seem to be at all organised... These tests come with standard forms, answer sheets etc.. its all part of making it easy and CONSISTENT. All of this messing about with transcribing Is NOT very professional at all. He must have know this stuff was going to be evidence in a Capital Murder case? What sort of a bozo is he?

If he was EVER going to do the test by the letter of the law... this should have been the time

What a jerk!

Part of my study in psychology included psychometric tests....

We did 4 hour labs every week administering and scoring tests.... I can not remember any student learner EVER doing such a shonky job as this guy.

He would have FAILED that psych paper that I did.

I didn't see any of the coverage today. I caught the end of JVM show and I'm watching NG right now. It says "live", but it's a delay of today's trial.

I think this photo says it all. Jodi doesn't look smug and Jennifer W. looks like she was "caught by surprise" that this Doctor (quack?) is being teared apart by Juan.

I can't believe how unprofessional and incompetent this Samuels guy is.

An average psych. student knows that it is important to have test conditions STANDARDISED... to eliminate extraneous effects and distractions. You DO have standard forms to fill out answers. Messing about with scraps of paper and the evaluator writing some answers FOR the subject is a joke.

A VERY important part of testing is for the person running the test to be detached from the subject... in this circumstance with some sort of relationship... Clinical and perhaps personal.. Samuels should have got somebody else to actually run the test on Jodi (IMHO)
A link between subject and tester lends itself to all sorts of problems. Either intentionally or inadvertently giving the subject cues as to how to respond etc. I could go on.. if this was a Psych III Examination of Samuels performance as a psychologist qualified to carry out psychometric tests he would FAIL D grade.

There's always the possibility that he wanted to become a professional (well paid) defense witness and tailor his expertise accordingly.

Remember what Joni posted a few days ago:

Joni wrote:
Look up the site for this Dr. who is testifying. Forget his name. His ad says something like "I will get your client off..." something like that. HE IS NOT supposed to do that. HE IS supposed to give a medical TRUTHFUL report on the person! Did anyone else hear about his comments before he went on ..."This big trial will really help my new BOOK!" etc. etc. etc.

I had heard mention of this too, but I wasn't sure how true it was. It looks to me now like it is the truth.

Imagine that Travis mutilated Jodi. Do you think they'd have some psychologist saying that Travis was suffering from PTSD? Or trying to make any psychological excuses for him?

Good point. And if is was Travis, they probably wouldn't hesitate to give him the death penalty.

Dr. Daniel Amen is on Dr. Drew. He's the one who does the brain scans. They are comparing Killer Brains vs. Normal Brains. He says a lot of these brains can be fixed.
