Article by Wendy Murphy ... why the 4 spared her life.

This was a good read, Joni! Murphy makes some very insightful observations, especially about the effect all the sex talk had on some male jurors. Goes to show us, things are never cut and dried. At first, I thought it would be great to have more male jurors opposed to female due to "emotions." Thought they would be more likely to impose death.

The problem is, I can completely agree with Murphy that the sex talk coupled with her sitting right in front of them, could have sent their imaginations and senses reeling. Didn't see that coming!

Quote:
"The four jurors who voted for life were reportedly a mix of male and female, but no matter what they say, none voted to spare Arias’ life because of her age. The more likely explanation is that female jurors identified with Arias on some level, maybe because they felt sexually exploited in their own lives, and male jurors who felt titillated when Arias talked about sex would have found it emotionally difficult to execute a woman who submitted herself to the kinds of activities most men only dream about."

We ALL wondered about this.

Looks like Wormy will be using some mental illness excuse in the next lap of this saga.
We all wondered why he didn't... it's SO obvious!

SO GRATEFUL there was a Murder 1 verdict. WHEW!!

Arias lawyers respond to Montgomery

Today Arias’ defense attorneys, Kirk Nurmi and Jennifer Willmott issued a joint statement in an exclusive to The
Arizona Republic.

“If the diagnosis made by the State’s psychologist is correct, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office is seeking to impose the death penalty upon a mentally ill woman who has no prior criminal history,” they wrote. “Despite Mr. Montgomery’s recent statements to the media, it is not incumbent upon Ms. Arias’ defense counsel to resolve this case. Instead, the choice to end this case sits squarely with Mr. Montgomery and his office.

“It is solely for them to determine if continuing to pursue a death sentence upon Ms. Arias, who is already facing a mandatory life sentence, is a good and proper use of taxpayer resources.”

Listening to the two jurors on Dr. Drew last night convinces me we will not hear from the four jurors who refused the DP. According to juror 6, Diane, all four believed there was abuse by Travis for a very long time.

I saw that, too. I suspect "abuse" in this case is code for Travis used Jodi for sex. Which he absolutely did. They used each other for various things. I also suspect the 4 who felt Travis "abused" Jodi have either been used/felt used for sex or have a daughter or sister who was used for sex.

Travis's use of Jodi for sex, especially while he was simultaneously portraying himself as a virgin Mormon man, is distasteful. However, all Jodi had to do was walk away. It's just that simple.

I do hope the guys out there who think there is never a price to pay for poking everything that moves get a clue, though. You never know if that totally hot, sex maniac chick you're doing is also capable of slitting your throat, shooting you in the head, and stabbing you once for every year you've been alive.

Wendy IS smart isn't she. I missed some of those things too ... They got 8 males, 4 females. Smart move I guess.

Don't forget tomorrow night (Wed.) Part 1 of Behind Bars - the Nancy Grace Special. 8 PM Eastern.
The following night (Thurs) Part 2. 8 PM Eastern.

Will be interesting to see if they talk about Jodi and if they like her - now. Hope they see how manipulative she is. I heard too, that she has told different stories to different people there, about what happened that day. Wow, maybe it's up to 5 or 6 stories now. Hope they realize what a liar/player/nut case she is!!

I so agree with Murphy as well! In fact, I asked my husband if he thought all the sex stuff, coupled with those pictures of Jodi's nether regions, didn't sway a few male jurors into thinking someone of Jodi's sexual prowess should be spared at any cost, lol. He said no "normal" man would feel that way, but who knows how "normal" any juror is in their head?

And essentially an UNTREATABLE personality disorder, to my understanding. As is sociopathy.

Nancy is on HLN now.

Jodi turns into whatever she needs to be ... to benefit herself. Will the REAL Jodi please stand up!
(She is laying down - as usual).

Nancy said the 2 different stores she told to inmates about what happened that day, can be used against her in the forthcoming trial. What an idiot. Burying herself with her mouth/tongue AGAIN!!!

Have to run now... TTL Jan. :84

I posted awhile back that I thought some of the male jurors might be getting something out of her porn testimony. I even mentioned the youngest male juror. I still believe some of them very well could have been at home fantasizing about her anal sex drive. Something their wives wouldn't let them do.

Eight men and some of them old goats. I think now it would have been the older men.

The next jury should be all women.

I almost fell out of my chair hearing Wendy talking about the same thing I was thinking.

Forgot about the nether region pics!! :Gslap

LOL about asking your hubby - you're brave! - I wouldn't dare ask for fear of giving mine any ideas!! :53

Somehow, though, I do think many men would be stimulated by the graphic and descriptive "taboo" acts - but never admit it. But then again, you've got the Kartrashian Klan - :eek WHAT were they thinking??:

http://www.starpulse.com/news/Samantha_ ... ans_recap_

Excerpts from the Article (mature audience only!!) This was actually on the first episode of the season!

Spoiler:
At a family gathering, Rob and Scott start talking about anal sex, as you do. Rob has done it with tons of ladies. You can totally ask them yourselves because they definitely exist. Scott is upset because Kourtney refuses to be a “backdoor betty,” and it’s now his mission to convince her to do anal. I mean, if Rob did it, then Scott needs to do it.

He won’t stop pestering her, especially when she wears a pair of short shorts, so she attempts to explain the situation to him using props. Mainly a giant carrot and a crumbling chocolate donut. He counters with a cucumber and a flexible gummy ring. Somehow she’s still not in the mood?

When Scott texts Kourtney at DASH and pesters her again about anal, Khloe advises her to tell him that the only way she’ll do it is if he agrees to try some backdoor action first. She offers up this plan, and he is completely horrified. He’s going to call her bluff.

He shouldn’t have, because Kourtney buys a strap on and chases him around the house wearing it. It works, because he realizes that it’s how she feels when he won’t leave her alone when he wants sex. Or maybe seeing her doing jumping jacks while wearing a dildo was too much to handle. Whatever, she got her way!

Over 400 Jury Questions were unsealed and only a few are mentioned in the newscast video at this link. Make sure to read the article - mostly lots of whining by Willmott and Nurmi, but there's some funny stuff that happened behind closed doors! :84

Arias trial: Transcripts of juror questions unsealed

Quote:
And exchanges on April 2 and 4 show the lengths of discourtesy sometimes reached at Judge Stephens’ bench.

One argument began as Willmott was explaining what she expected to elicit from defense witness Alyce LaViollette, a domestic violence expert who raised so much controversy both in and out of court that she became a target of death threats. Specifically, Willmott was discussing whether Alexander at one point told Arias that he would kill himself.

“There’s a lack of trustworthiness there,” Martinez said. “She’s a liar. So I’m just having a difficult time seeing how she can say that Mr. Alexander attempted suicide.”

Willmott and Martinez bandied back and fortth. then Martinez said, “But the thing is that if Ms. Willmott and I were married, I certainly would say I F’g want to kill myself. That doesn’t mean I want to kill myself. It just means there’s a bad relationship and I want you to leave me alone.”

Willmott protested. “Judge, just for the record, I think that that was an insult because he’s trying to say that if he and I were married ...”

Martinez cut her off: “That was a compliment, bad joke.”

Willmott: “I don’t see it as either.”

Stephens did not reprimand Martinez. Instead she said, “All right. Let’s move past that.”

Nancy G. has a way with words.

She said, speaking of Jodi Arias ...
"She is like a pre-historic savage!"

And she also said "If someone ripped of that face of Jodi Arias, they would probably find something reptilian."

Remote thanks for that. Will read tomorrow. Looks very interesting...

Remote above is snipped from yours post. Reminds me of the story about Churchill.
(I wonder if Juan was thinking about this one.)

He and Lady Astor were sitting side by side at a dinner party.
"Lady Astor: Winston, if you were my husband I'd poison your tea.
Churchill: Nancy, if I were your husband, I'd drink it!"
