If I was cynical... I might think that the "Appeal" is being dragged out so that there is some justification for KC pleading the "5th" in the ZFG Civil Suit.

Investigator in Casey Anthony case wonders if her testimony fell on deaf ears By Kelli Cook, Reporter Last Updated: Friday, May 25, 2012 @ 08:51PM  One year ago, the first witness testified in the murder case against Casey Anthony. We introduced you Thursday to Robin Maynard, a former Orange County crime scene investigator. Now she’s back to tell us what she thinks the jurors were really thinking when she was testifying. Hopespring Drive is home to George and Cindy Anthony, and the place where Casey said her daughter Caylee died. Maynard was a crime scene investigator on the case, and was called to testify in Casey's murder trial one year ago. Maynard's biggest claim to fame with the case was she found the heart-shaped sticker among little Caylee's remains. "We collected it like any other piece of evidence,” Maynard said. “I mean, we were there to document the evidence to do it properly." Prosecutors argued Casey placed a heart-shaped sticker on the duct tape that was found on Caylee's skull. Maynard testified twice during the trial and wondered if her testimony fell on deaf ears. I have never seen such a rag tag team ... such a collection of trash in all my life. Caylee didn't belong there. The beautiful parts of poor Caylee inside and out obviously came from her father's blood line.  I have tried, just to see if I could... to find one goodthing about ANY of them. I can't! Anthony was acquitted of all major charges in the death of 2-year-old Caylee, including murder, but was convicted on four counts of lying to law enforcement, a first-degree misdemeanor. The appeal is notable in part because of the effect it has on lawsuits Anthony faces. Zenaida Gonzalez, a woman whose name is similar to the nanny Anthony said kidnapped Caylee, and Texas EquuSearch, the mounted search group who scoured Orange County for the girl before she was found dead, are suing and want to question Anthony. However, Anthony has deflected most questioning, citing her constitutional right against self-incrimination during the pending appeal. * Jurors only heard testimony about Anthony's lies, the lawyers argue, because Circuit Judge Belvin Perry improperly allowed it into her trial. Casey Anthony attorney files appeal The Convictions involved: It was almost three years ago that Casey told Orange County deputies the following: * That she worked at Universal Orlando Resort in 2008, * That she left Caylee with a babysitter named Zenaida Gonzalez, * That she told Jeffrey Hopkins and Juliette Lewis that Caylee was missing * That she spoke to Caylee on the phone on July 15, 2008. Casey was charged and convicted of a separate count for each statement. She was fined $1,000 for each count, totaling $4,618 after court costs.
