Mosby promises an oxymoron. To the hoodlums, youth, thugs, whatever you call them, carrying pocket knife simulations of switchblades and dispensing dirty heroin needles somewhere (follows the trail of heroin use), she promises their safety in a newer day. Safety, from whom, exactly? The police?? It’s the same hoodlums causing riots and burning down innocent businesses, of non-black enterprises.

She really ought to listen to herself speak, because as a prosecutor, Mosby is promising hoodrats safety from the police, the very same HOODRATS who are damaging livelihood and property to the city of Baltimore. Maybe Mrs. Mosby should try to promise them safety from themselves since she is such an awesome promiser and miracle worker, she could have prevented Freddy from gagging on his own bags of heroine when caught. He ran because he possessed illicit drug items most likely. Eventually passed out and hit his head. If he normally was cooperative in a police van, then it was a sequence of unfortunate consequences beginning with trading drugs. Either he couldn’t completely get the bags down his throat or the heroin started to overwhelm his physique, he was thereby agitated, and finally fainted hitting his head. I highly doubt all 6 attending police officers would have ignored a real medical emergency if Fred was already passed out each time they checked on him.

Then again, these officers are not all rocket scientists nor seers. Fred was not belted, but he was restrained to the best of their abilities. Fred was unpredictable and self-destructive beyond the reasonable management and know how of the officers. Perhaps Mosby and her husband can quit prancing around on the walkway in fancy get ups and figure out a way to stop the self-destructive habits of drug users. Now that would be some promise! Reality bites.

The third stop was to put the other prisoner — a 38-year-old man accused of violating a protective order — into the van. The van was then driven six blocks to the Western District station. Gray was taken from there to a hospital, where he died April 19.
