Federal Report Faults Police Actions During Ferguson Unrest :98

ABCNews
FERGUSON, Mo. | Jun 30, 2015, 12:14 PM ET

(AP) -- Police antagonized crowds gathered to protest in Ferguson, violated free-speech rights and made it difficult to hold officers accountable, according to a U.S. Department of Justice report summary obtained by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The summary cited "vague and arbitrary" orders to keep protesters moving that violated their rights of assembly and free speech. It is part of a longer "after-action" report to be delivered this week to top police officials in Ferguson, St. Louis city and county and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The summary suggests that unrest that followed the shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown was aggravated by the community's hostility toward Ferguson police and worsened when authorities didn't quickly divulge details of his death, the newspaper ( http://bit.ly/1U3TQLe ) reported Tuesday.

"Had law enforcement released information on the officer-involved shooting in a timely manner and continued the information flow as it became available, community distrust and media skepticism would most likely have been lessened," according to the document.

Who is burning black churches? Twitter activists think they know

One of the activists who rose to prominence after live streaming events in Ferguson, Palestinian-American and St Louis native Bassem Masri, was also one of the main Twitter users behind the "Who is burning black churches?" hashtag.

He also compared "ISIS Terrorists" to domestic terrorists burning churches.
Blossom is one spit away from a jail cell. ;)

Kinda ironic that BLM never once claimed this guy was cause of Pine Lawn courts or responsible for the crooked pine lawn cop they're chasing ...but yeah Knowles is the racist who adopted policy drafted long before his time. It's true only whites are racists...:lol

A couple of Swag's retweets dealt with Derk not getting bailed out yet. MORE hasn't coughed up the rest of his bail money. One says "final straw". Later on, MyCivilRights11 tweeted "Not opposed to a #writethecheck type sit in, at a home. Hint" LOL!

Guess the dude that's head of MORE is fixin to get a fat protest in front of his house! Ha! Just my little tidbit for the day!

State senator angered over comments posted to social media
POSTED 6:39 PM, JULY 7, 2015, BY PAUL SCHANKMAN

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – A state senator with a pro-labor voting record is angry after profane comments were allegedly posted about her on a local, pro-union Facebook page.

Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal a University City democrat says she was alerted to the comments Friday night found on a public page called Pro-Union St. Louis. She says the comments centered around her stand on the school transfer bill.

Chappelle-Nadal says some of the posts included racially charged comments and vulgarities aimed at her.

‘I wanted people to know who these individuals are,’ she said.

The comments, she says, were removed from the Pro-Union Facebook page, but not before she was able to trace back the identities of those making the nasty posts.

She says she went to the public versions of their Facebook pages and copied photos of them and posted them on her Twitter feed under the headline, ‘racist union members.’

Some of the photos also showed family members, including children.

Several Twitter users have been highly critical of that tactic, but the senator defends her actions.

‘It`s a free medium. It is called the First Amendment. If he wants to make his Facebook page a private page that is certainly his right,’ she said adding, ‘When you start a war, everything is fair.’

While there may not be a legal issue here, attorney Brad Young, who is an expert on cyber law, says Twitter and Facebook could take action against the senator.

‘It does not matter if it is publicly available, that would still infringe upon the copyright interests of the person who took the picture,’ Young said.

“The only ramifications of that may be to have the reporting persons account on Twitter or Facebook to be deactivated and both Facebook and Twitter do that frequently,’ he said.

THX Daisy :flower

Derk Brown was released from Richmond Heights, MO today.
Locked up 4 days for outstanding traffic warrants.
IMO he's a good guy, but needs to take care of bidness.

Minimal info at Vinelink. Nothing at Casenet.
