#FERGUSON: A Reckless, Failed Experiment In Societal Manipulation
Deceitful Outsiders Seek Personal Notoriety By Preying On The Defenseless, Lesser-Educated & Uninformed
By Roger Sherwood (Open Post) January 12, 2015 at 1:15pm

When the dust settles, and it will, #Ferguson will forever be remembered as little more than a disastrous social exercise provoked by cunning intruders who exploited others into thinking they were owed something based on their skin color versus hard work and compliance with the law. Period.

In this case, “Ferguson” is not high-end plumbing supplies nor towns in Kentucky, Iowa or North Carolina. It’s a St. Louis suburb marred with controversy.

One need not explain Ferguson in detail here; if you’re alive you are aware. A police officer killed a black man, Mike Brown, in what was ruled a justified shooting. People went inappropriately crazy. It seems that black people are okay with being killed by other blacks but take great offense when another race participates in the act.

But let’s not make this racial yet, as hard as that might be.

When the “movement” (a word carefully adopted in lieu of the often “unlawful protests”) began, it was falsely promoted under the guise of “seeking legal reforms.” Instead, it has solely become inflammatory racial outcries complete with a hashtag, #BlackLivesMatter. It was then and remains all about race.

Ferguson: Statistics Don't Lie.. but Liars use statistics

"Over 1,100 People killed by cops in 2014"

That does include ALL races, and since we here about all the black dead cases... it may be that Blacks miss out?
Are the protards suggesting that MORE blacks be shot so that they get thier demographic percentage in the 1,100?

Post subject:  Re: Michael Brown Shooting Death - Discussion #1

And Liars lie about statistics, too.

The woman claims 1100 people were "shot down for no good reason". That's not what the source website says. It says, "Corporate news reports of people killed by nonmilitary law enforcement officers, whether in the line of duty or not, and regardless of reason or method. Inclusion implies neither wrongdoing nor justification on the part of the person killed or the officer involved. The post merely documents the occurrence of a death."

The woman claims the number is underreported because they don't have to "report to the FBI", even though the website specifically identifies "news reports" as their source. It has nothing to do with the official FBI reports.

"Antonio Martin, 18" is named, and the evidence shows he was shooting at a cop when he was killed (hardly "for no good reason"). They are including almost anything: car accidents, accidental shootings, taser-related deaths, criminals killed justifiably, etc., in that number.

The chart at killedbypolice.net does have partial race information, apparently when a news report gave it, but it is not complete, and doesn't address the race of the officer. Essentially, any race, any death no matter cause or circumstances, if there was a cop involved somehow then it was placed in the collection.

So representing this number as "black deaths" is a lie; as "shot down" is a lie; as "no good reason" is a lie; underreported because "FBI" is a lie. There's not much left here...

P.S. Hi! I'm back, after a fashion. Nice to see you again!

Hi Sue :give

Nice to see you back (after a fashion) and thanks for that.

I like it so much I will tweet a link to it (Random Topics Promotion)

I found the site just to get a link but didn't read the detail there.

What partial race break down did you find?

An open letter to Ferguson protesters

http://therealbigsol.blogspot.co.nz/201 ... sters.html
Quote:
An open letter to Ferguson protesters

I love you, but I don't like what you're doing. The disrespect you showed to those who attended Monday's Martin Luther King Celebration at Harris-Stowe State University was beyond the pale. You aggressively took over the stage and chanted an incoherent message to a crowd that wasn't there to hear you anyway. You didn't want to pay homage to Martin Luther King nor be a part of the program. Your disrespectful selves wanted to be the program.

In the more than five months since Mike Brown's death, your movement has been all over the place. It started in Ferguson, but then spread to the Shaw neighborhood in St. Louis City after the police shooting death of Vonderrit Myers. There was a build up to the grand jury decision, but that energy quickly fizzled. You then turned your attention to the police shooting death of Antonio Martin. That effort went nowhere after police released a video of Martin allegedly holding a gun.

Answers were demanded, but claims of racism and white supremacy didn't fit the narrative of the Berkeley, Mo. shooting -- mostly because the city's mayor, police chief and almost every other major post is held by a black person. The only thing that resulted from the protest of Martin's death was the arrest of a young man for allegedly attempting to set a Quik Trip on fire. Many of you laid down in the middle of the highway. Nothing was achieved.

You spent the holidays hopping from mall to mall. Someone had the bright idea of trying to rush into St, Louis City police headquarters. Someone could have been killed. You can't shut down a police station. There are active police investigations going on that involve witnesses, victims and criminals. That tactic alone was immature, irresponsible and showed a tremendous disregard for the safety and lives of your fellow protesters.

Please stop pitting people against their elders as many of you are not young. Yes, most of you are younger than Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson, but that's where your claims of youth should stop. Many of you are in your mid-to-late 20s, 30s and 40s and are only interested in gaining a measure of celebrity and position. Some of you are hoping to get tased, gassed or hit with a rubber bullet. Those things are worth at least 10,000 Twitter followers each.

You claim to protest in honor of Dr. King, but have learned next to nothing from him. Those in power -- those who have facilitated and maintained the mistrust between police and community sit comfortably in their plush offices without consequence. Those officials who allow killers and other hardened criminals to walk freely through our communities operate without fear of recall or censure. I'll make it plain. Almost everyone who was in office on August 9 is still in office.

I encourage you to formulate a plan and stick to it. Create a policy agenda and present it. Pressure those elected leaders who were so quick to march in August to be just as swift with new legislation now. Work with the students at universities like Harris-Stowe instead of rushing in and trying to take over. Your disrespect silenced them like you claim elders have tried to silence you.

We live in the context of the other. No matter the disposition, our commonality is our humanity. We must find it. Lest we be lost forever.

Sincerely,

Solomon Alexander

The protestors don't care if they know the "truth". They believe that everyone should understand their view of the world. They latch onto numbers as "proof" of their perceived grievances and they see all information as somehow twisted into "evidence" that they are right and their cause is "just". It's a strange mob madness or perhaps group hallucination, in my opinion.

At http://www.killedbypolice.net/kbp2014.html the chart lists the information that the project has collected from news reports. The third column in from the left is titled "g/r" and the entries, for example "M" or "M/L" or "M/B", reflect gender and race, if given. The chart also includes a link to the Killed By Police Facebook entry and a link to the news report used as sourcing for the entry.

Statistics don't lie, but they can be misreported, misused and misdirected. This chart does NOT tell us anything about "police brutality" or about "innocent" deaths. It does NOT tell us that these deaths were unjustified or malicious or illegal. Those details would require an evaluation of the context, cause and nature of each entry. These "statistics" tell us that someone collected a news report about a death that somehow involved a cop; that's all. We don't know how well news reports actually reflect information about deaths. It should be noted that in a country our size, with our population, 1100 deaths in a year is not excessive. When you realize they included deaths that occurred during the commission of a crime (for example, the deceased was threatening to kill or had killed someone else already), then at least some of these numbers reflect the reality that criminals tend to die violent deaths by their own choice and instigation.

My health is returning, and I do a lot of reading and/or lurking these days, so I will look at the chart more later today. :83

Thanks for the tweet. I just recently signed up to tweet. I mostly lurk there, too... :30

I'm slower than ever, but working on it. :91
