THIS is what I have been waiting for!

I was really looking forward to watching the warm up match tonight. It was starting early and had my hopes up.
It was abandoned because of rain. :(

So I will wait a few more days and hope Auckland dries up. ;)

I have to warn you.. weather in NZ is crap.. at least it is in Auckland, and not sure it will buck up it's ideas for next game at Eden park?

As you know I am NOT a fan of T-20

Oh great news, Rumpole. :roll
I will just hope for the best and see what the weekend brings.

YES, you have mentioned about T-20 a few million times. LOL
I know it doesn't mean much to the game, but at least I get to see an entire match, even when it starts at midnight. You should be happy for me. ;)

I miss so much cricket because the times are not Texas-friendly. :stamp

Weather update from our man on site in Auckland....ME!

It was raining this morning and overcast after that. It is more scattered clouds now, but late in the day and so not much drying time. Game scheduled to start in 2 hours.

My garden is still damp, but having said all that.. the drainage at Eden Park is supposed to be good and so play is still possible.

I am not a fan of T-20... not inspired to root for either team.

I do hope its a reasonably high scoring game... so that second innings is exciting regardless of who eventually wins.

I assume score 160+ (8 runs/ov) is a good score?

Oh shit... Mark Richardson commentating.. I had forgotten he existed...:doh

I hope SA win now

Post subject:  Re: CRICKET: SA in NZ Feb/Mar 2017

LOL, I heard Richardson announced and thought of you. Well, with the way things are going I think SA will get the win. And I am one to pull for NZ to win until the end.

Need a wicket to change things up. :roll

Horrible drop by Santner. :doh

I just hope the batting is as easy for NZ. Noticed Taylor isn't in the lineup.

Chris is impressed with this folder. I went to the top post of Fixtures, showing him why I will be busy for the next month+.

I know and almost went there. He'll find out about those when I'm watching.

I'm already nervous about the NZ innings. That's a high Req RR. It's Glenn Phillips debut. :)

Hate to KEEP saying it.. but T-20 is a daft game.

Either side could win.. largely down to luck.

I hope SA win :cool

Interesting Point
Simon Doull suggested that "the math rule" in T-20 is 2x12 ov. score to predict final total

Author:  Molly [ Fri Feb 17, 2017 3:50 am ]
Post subject:  Re: CRICKET: SA in NZ Feb/Mar 2017

And I never tire of you saying it. LOL

Yeah, I can see where luck fits in.

I don't get the math rule. I can see 2x8 ov but 12 sounds a bit off. :roll

Post subject:  Re: CRICKET: SA in NZ Feb/Mar 2017

2x8 would be very daft???

Think about it.

That implies it takes last 12 overs to match what they make in first 8

2x12 is saying that in last 8 overs they will make as many as they did in first 12... makes sense since sides (with wickets in hand) can always up the RR in last overs.

It compares with the ODI rule: 2x30 score to predict final score

That means side can make as many runs in last 20 overs as they made in the first 30.

Post subject:  Re: CRICKET: SA in NZ Feb/Mar 2017

I know what you are saying. I CAN do simple math. :Q24

At the end of 12 ov for SA the score was 107.

I'm going with 2x10. I've always thought they got less runs in the second half of the innings, depending on wickets made.

Author:  Rumpole [ Fri Feb 17, 2017 4:13 am ]
Post subject:  Re: CRICKET: SA in NZ Feb/Mar 2017

2x107 was a strong possibility.. only SA "collapsed" towards the end.

2x10 is... HOPELESS.... that means side does not have "an end spurt"... sides should be able to manage some sort of end-spurt.. a final slog in last 5 overs if nothing else.
