Whew. I started noting this tour from the ESPN features and decided to check and see if you had already done it. Of course you have. ;)

Starts in one week! I'll miss the first half of the first match and hopefully catch the end.

I really like the times of ALL of these. Even the late start times for T-20 will at least be short matches.

:)

Bangladesh a newer arrival in "Test Nations" club. Largely unknown players to me... but I daresay I will learn who they are.
The first ODI is up against "THE BOXING DAY TEST" played at MCG..
A big event in world cricket, always Aust against whoever is touring (Pakistan this time)

I need a huge distraction from everything and I do believe this will do it. :D

This has to be my second favorite cricket place. That view of the ocean and mountain is gorgeous!

Looking forward to the Tests starting next week too. Time is early for me, 4PM. :91

I see with an extra half hour they were able to get in 34.3 overs. :roll
Was going to ask you earlier how many they SHOULD have with the extra time today. In the first hour I think they had either 14 or 17 ov, so I am thinking at least 38 by lunch.

It confuses me when the match is behind like it is. NZ should be batting by now (today).

Hoping the wickets start falling in the afternoon session.
( Looking more forward to the Aus ODI later. :) )

The general thought is the extra half hour is equivalent to 8 overs
(In a 2 hour session they SHOULD do 30 ov (easily) and so in general 15 ov/hour)

Williamson should be fined... or shot.. or Taylor could be shot as a proxy?

I just heard on TV.. talking about McCullum captaining a team in Aussie Big Bash league... he has been BANNED for a spell... because he was guilty of slow over rate. We need to get TOUGH for test cricket

Thanks for explaining the overs ratio.

I didn't know McCullum was still playing, AND, I have never heard of a "slow overs rate" penalty (and individual fines).

Thx for the link. :)

ICC have been pontificating about best way to "Solve" slow over rate in tests.

It is easier to FINE in shorter forms of game that are a money making shows (especially T-20). There have been instances of fines in ODI games, but its not common.

I have opined on a solution... fining the bowling sides RUNS.. at least DOUBLE the number of runs indicated by RR for missed overs.. as well as making the bastards keep going late at night.. lose part of lunch time etc.
