So India won 1st and 3rd Test matches and the 2nd was a Draw.

I was looking up several things and found this. Wow... just like you said it happens. All VERY interesting.

Cricket: India could face fine over Nagpur pitch
By Antoinette Muller | Daily Maverick | 02 DEC 2015 01:11 (SOUTH AFRICA)

No matter which side of the fence you were on during the third Test between India and South Africa, everyone can agree that the wicket was dodgy as hell. Yes, it wasn’t a 79 all-out wicket, and South Africa should have done much better in their first innings, but the pitch was genuinely bad. Thus, it comes as no surprise that the surface has officially been rated “poor” by match referee, Jeff Crowe. The report by Crowe detailed concerns raised by the match officials. The BCCI have been given 14 days to respond.

The irony of the pitches which have been prepared is surely not lost on anyone considering India’s reaction to wickets during the ODI series. It was just a few weeks ago where India’s team management was accused of abusing the curator at the Wankhede in Mumbai, when India lost the ODI series. According to reports, India's team management had requested a slower wicket for the series-decider in Mumbai, and had even gone so far as to allegedly request the curator to water the wicket on the eve of the match.

South Africa’s Faf du Plessis quipped in return that he’s “sure they wouldn’t be complaining if they were winning” and so, here we are. A wicket which was dodgy, where no batsman scored more than 40, and where the average innings total was just 160-odd has caused much outrage.

India win the toss and decide to bat

9.00am
India have won the toss, and they will bat. "Generally, the Delhi surface tends to produce a lot of runs," Virat Kohli says. An interesting change in their line-up. Umesh Yadav comes in for Amit Mishra. Kohli says it might swing early in the morning, given the wintry conditions.

Hashim Amla says it "looks like a decent surface", which might "break up on the second or third or fourth day". Temba Bavuma, Kyle Abbott and Dane Piedt come in for Stiaan van Zyl, Kagiso Rabada and Simon Harmer. Amla says Bavuma will open the batting.

8.55am
"A bat-first pitch", according to Sunil Gavaskar. It's a hard pitch with cracks all over, and he reckons they might open up as the match wears on. Wonder if the hardness will also mean true bounce and carry on the first couple of days. Let's see.

Watching ESPN cricinfo, but that's just not the same.

Thx

ETA: YAY I am finally getting it, better late than never. :D

PIEDT'S GOOD BEGINNING
Minimum wickets Dane Piedt has taken in each of his three Test innings; he had taken 4/90 and 4/62 before this innings.

Stumps - Day 1

India 231/7 (84.0 ov)

( Only getting through 84 overs is a poor show)

Poor show on whose side, SA?

I thought they would have gotten more than 1 wicket in the last session. Went to bed an hour before end, thinking SA would be batting today.

(still learning)

Poor show generally.. but it is responsibility of bowling side to get overs bowled :)

Thanks, Rumpole.

I am certainly seeing a difference in this match.

Piedt (the rookie) with 5 maidens and 4 wickets, really impresses me and shows me that anyone can produce like Lyon (or better) in a session, at any given time.

Indian pitches are well known to suit spin.. and India produces spin bowlers... there is a balance in life :)
