Why did you use 13 innings, and not 14?

"They" are using 13... so he must have been out 13 times.

I see voges is listed as playing 20 innings. :doh

So I was WRONG to assume just 15 innings (and one Not out before today) he must be in his 20th innings, but has had 7 not outs (including not out so far today)

(20 innings is the min requirement to get on the list as a genuine batsman)

300+ lead was a suggestion. more than a prediction :cool

It is however, still a possibility.

I do think that Australia need to move the game along a bit... maybe score at 3+ r/o.

They do NEED to bowl NZ out again.. take 10 wickets. If they do that they should win the test. I am sure they would want to bat on now and NOT have to bat a second innings at all... but the key really is to get NZ back in and bowl them out.

This would be nice. :)

After watching South Africa (I saw every play) hit a 15 RR this morning (88 runs in 6 ovrs), Aus seem a bit slow today. BUT you have said there "is no hurry" in a Test match, right?

;)

I suggest.....

Australia now throw caution to the wind and bat like "Warrior Poets" (whatever that means) :cool (quoting Braveheart)

Get as many runs as possible.. but get it done and get NZ back in so that they can bowl them out.... I'd like to see NZ batting before Tea Break

So 43.1 overs bowled by NZ today. I expect Australia to bowl the other 47 ... or MORE

(I might allow 2 overs off the required for innings break)

Australia is gonna end up passing whatever NZ scores in this second innings.

They have better batsmen AND bowlers (fielders equal this test) ;)

Still enjoying the match though. :)

BTW, don't know when he last bowled, but I've never seen McCullum bowl that I can recall.

I dont recall McCullum bowling. But it's not unknown for captains or average players who really DONT bowl.. to bowl a few overs in test when things are bogged down...... just for fun, for variety. It's not unknown for non-bowlers to get a wicket.. fluke, beginner's luck... plus batsmen think(know) they are crap bowlers and so play rash shots.. and get out.

I checked... McCullum has bowled in 7 innings ;)

151 balls... conceding 85 runs.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/new-zealand ... 37737.html

He would have been very unlikely to get to bowl in his early career... he was wicketkeeper ;)

BTW... McCullum could come in and bat like a Warrior Poet on speed... and change this game completely... again :cool

It seems to me that with tea break looming... Australia are ALREADY behind in over rate after about an hours play :wall

I am hoping this is what McCullum does when he bats - tomorrow.
No more wickets today.

LOL at your "over rate" watch. ;)

Thx for the link.

Tea Break

New Zealand 370 & 43/1 (13.0 ov)
Australia 505
New Zealand trail by 92 runs with 9 wickets remaining

After just an hour's bowling Australia are already 2 overs short. 15 overs in an hour is NOT a big ask... Lyon bowling makes it VERY easy. Australia should be punished :59

Now you have me counting. ;)
Probably because of the two reviews ... but 13 overs in an hour since Tea Break.
They've got 4 overs to make up now. Probably will play until 6:00?

McCullum's in.. Last Test innings ever... :(

:rose :rose :rose

Now... McCullum could rescue this game.... and I am sure he will try... but I for one will NOT be down on him if he goes out.
