I am finding the cricket a tad boring.... i guess too much cricket lately.. takes a bit to impress me. :roll

I'd prefer either lots of boundaries and batting excitement.. or else wickets falling and so coming down to a very tight game that way.

RAIN is getting heavier.. I'd like to KNOW what the DL targets are?

ETA
Commentators just said at moment NZ are ahead on DL by 38 runs.

I suspect that NZ will need to do a LOT better than this to beat Australia on Wednesday :cool

Cool photo. :)

Better than this to beat Aus anytime. But look who is not in the line-up tonight.

They sure are promoting the game this week.

I don't mean to be too critical of NZ.... the game is a tad boring because Pakistan's score was 50 or more runs short :cool

Rain.. and Duckworth Lewis is on :)

The par score at the fall of the fifth wicket right now is 202, so New Zealand are eight runs ahead.

Pakistan 290 (47.3 ov)
New Zealand 210/5 (35.3 ov)

Rain easing... but will take some time to prepare outfield etc

There is likely time/overs lost and so a new number of overs and target score will be announced when they resume.

From espn
Quote:
JustAnotherGeek: "Rain radar shows clear skies to the west where the weather is coming from." That's good news, but then there's this from GRBauckland: "Weather is coming from the city to the north today, not from the west like usual. Cloud is thinning now." Different directions, but both say the weather will clear.

I would like to confirm...
A) Yes weather at Eden Park DOES normally come from here out West.. I can usually predict rain that will hit Eden Park.. 20 mins or so before it happens :cool
B) That does NOT seem to be the case today. We never saw the downpour that eventually stopped play at Eden Park.

Apart from the very brief rain I mentioned here (which never got to Eden park) it has remained fine all day here.

Play about to resume... the game reduced to a 43 over game, Target 263.

NZ need another 53 runs to win off 45 balls.

bowling limits
2 bowlers can bowl max 9 overs, 3 bowlers can bowl max 8 overs.

BTW from here required RR is over 7 (7.07)

Another CRAP (inexcusable) umpire decision.. likely changing game result... I HATE it when that happens!

6 runs required off last 6 balls.

I HOPE NZ lose... they deserve to after Billy Bowden gifted them 20+ runs.

I read it wrong "1 day" instead of Day 1. :roll
It is looking good now. I'm ready for the coin toss.

btw - I was going to watch the New Zealand A v Pakistanis 3-day match last week and it was rained out all three days, in Nelson I think. So a delay will work. :)
