IMO.... WAY below "par".. :doh

....but cricket is a funny old game.... we have yet to see how Australia bat on this wicket.

I hope that Australia got at it aggressively from the outset.. make the score well before 50 overs

After 15 overs... 115 without loss!!

WELL DONE AUSTRALIA... about time SOMEBODY made a proper start (100+) in first 15 overs.

Australia 114/0 (15.0 ov)

After 30 overs..... the old predict potential final score trick

Australia 190/4 (30 overs)

So..... the equivalent of 380 final score... WELL ahead of the target of 282.

Australia win...

Despite some commentary histrionics.. it was easy throughout.. NZ total was pathetic.. about 80 short.

New Zealand 281/9 (50.0 ov)
Australia 283/6 (46.3 ov)

Australia won by 4 wickets (with 21 balls remaining)

3 Match Series one all...

Decider next game.. Monday

Steve Smith wins the toss... decides to BOWL first

GOOD..... always a chance NZ will put on a big score...

McCullum's last (ODI) game.. hope he can break a few records... number of 6's.. fastest 100... that sort of thing :cool

Small ground... great weather.... just need some aggressive batting :cool

We beat the Okers in RUGBY WC final :cool

Cricket.... Australia have had the upper hand over NZ for long time... I am really an Aussie for cricket....

I am supporting NZ for McCullum's sake (and a few others).. plus NO TAYLOR makes NZ more attractive :cool

McCullum starting well. Guptill needs to get off his ass this game.. HE was far too slow last game. We NEED both McCullum and Guptill going like hell at the start.

I WANT to see 100+ at 15 overs .. no wickets down :cool

This has potential to be a GREAT game of cricket (whoever wins).

The key is McCullum (and Guptill) not going out for at least 20 overs.

At the moment Guptill striking at over 100% and McCullum going nuts is "Plan A"

On track to BETTER 100+ at 15 overs... always a GOOD start to an innings.

CRAP!!!!!

McCullum out :59

BB McCullum c Hastings b Marsh 47 (27b 6x4 3x6) SR: 174.07

McCullum CERTAINLY did his part.... up to the rest of the NZ team to "honor" the start McCullum has given them.

Time for Guptill to take on the "go like hell" role.. and Williamson can "just" strike at 100+

After 15 overs......

New Zealand 112/1 (15.0 ov)

Good.. they passed the "magical" 100... but need to build on that.. not succumb to some sort of batting collapse :roll

WASP 329
I still think 350+ is required :cool

IMO

BOTH Guptill and Williamson need to get on with things....

And... oh dear... as I type Williamson is OUT.. and his SR is BELOW where it should be :stamp

KS Williamson b Boland 18 (28b 1x4 0x6) SR: 64.28

THIS is getting to be a feature.. commentators say how GREAT Williamson is (and he has been great).. but on the day he MUST contribute at SR 100+

Oh shit!

Now Guptill is out.. SR is close to 100, but given the good start and Guptill being "in" on this wicket he really needed to do even better than that :doh

MJ Guptill c Hastings b Zampa 59 (61b 4x4 3x6) SR: 96.72

Taylor joins commentary team :doh

He is THREATENING to be fit to play in 2nd test :eek

Somebody needs to trip him up so he falls down some steps as he leaves the commentary box :cool

Not sure it is WORTH doing the estimation.. double score after 30 overs? :roll

New Zealand 173/4 (30.0 ov)

Predicts a final score of 346... that would be OK ish.... but the double score thing has not worked last few games (Teams score less than predicted)

I think the reason that the old 30 over estimation does not work is that teams (generally) get on with things early on... especially in first 10 overs when there are only 2 fielders out. The rule tweaks encourage that. In effect the "slog" happens a bit during early overs rather than all in last 10 overs (or less). It also seems teams DO NOT achieve 10/over in last 10 overs.. as many persist in predicting..it simply does not happen these days.
